When one thinks about it timewise, one could say that for Ottawa. - Provinces all were openly moving toward opening up while  they were busy clogging Ottawa - they were too busy honking to listen

Studies are ongoing to understand the reasons for this growth advantage, but initial data suggest that BA.2 appears inherently more transmissible than BA.1, which currently remains the most common omicron sublineage reported.  This difference in transmissibility appears to be much smaller than, for example, the difference between BA.1 and delta. Further, although BA.2 sequences are increasing in proportion relative to other omicron sublineages (BA.1 and BA.1.1), there is still a reported decline in overall cases globally," it wrote.



According to New York State health department data, BA.2 is doubling in proportion statewide every two weeks and represents about one in 10 sequenced cases.



During the past week 82.7% of omicron sequences were lineage BA.1.1.529, and 17.3% were BA.2," the state reported.
