Beijing 'Substantially Involved' in US 2020 Election, China Analyst Says

Beijing was "substantially involved" in the U.S. 2020 elections on multiple levels, according to China analyst Gordon Chang, who has described the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) infiltration of American "elite" circles as an "espionage emergency."

"I think China clearly interfered," Chang, the author of "The Coming Collapse of China," told NTD's Focus News.

Chang, who has spent decades studying China and writing about the threat of the CCP, explained how leading up to the Nov. 3 presidential election, the trend of Chinese propaganda was that former Vice President Joe Biden should receive the Democratic Party nomination over Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.). State propaganda later favored Biden over President Donald Trump, Chang said.

"We also know that China tried to cause chaos. Large Chinese networks like 'Spamouflage Dragon' relentlessly attacked the president on YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter," Chang said, referring to a pro-Beijing spam network that targeted Trump in the run-up to the election.

"We know that the social media platforms have taken down a massive number of fake Chinese accounts," Chang said. "Twitter in June alone took down 174,000 fake accounts, so we know that they were actively involved, and we have a number of indications that it was not to help the president."

The author also highlighted the danger of CCP infiltration within the U.S. elite circle, suggesting that all institutions nationwide are being targeted by Beijing.

"It's not just colleges and universities, it's also prep schools, secondary schools, the foundations, NGOs. If there's an institution in the U.S., China is targeting it," Chang said. "China's influence here is vast, which means that we've got a lot of work to do to remove the CCP from our society, because they are certainly up to no good.

"The danger is clear and present, and we've got to act immediately, because we don't have much time to lose. Xi Jinping doesn't talk about competing with us in the international system. He is floating these ideas that China has the mandate of heaven over all under heaven, and China actually acts like emperors of old, who believe that they're the only sovereigns in the world, which means essentially that Americans are just subservient—we don't have a country, we don't have sovereignty," he said.

That's a bit misleading, as it includes people that work part time in factory cafeterias, security, and clean dorms. it's closer to one thousand US dollars per month for full time semi skilled heavy industry factory workers,. But, even if that six hundred dollars a month wasn't misleading, ten workers earning that wage would be more expensive than one American earning three grand a month.

Wages mean nothing without productivity. The less a worker produces the more expensive they are, regardless of how low their salary is.

Zoom Shared US User Data With Beijing to Ensure Chinese Market Access, Court Documents Show

A Zoom executive worked with Chinese authorities to provide data on users located outside of China and ensure the U.S. video-call giant retained market access in the country, according to recently unsealed court documents filed by U.S. federal prosecutors.

The documents detailed internal communications between Zoom employees, which showed that Chinese security authorities made numerous requests to the company for data on users and meetings that discussed political and religious topics Beijing deemed unacceptable. Zoom complied with most of these requests, at times involving users outside of China.

The revelations highlight how users outside of China's shores are increasingly being caught in the crosshairs as the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) steps up its demands on companies like Zoom to surveil and censor users both at home and abroad. Zoom is a San Jose-based company, whose software is developed in China.

If I drank cola, it would not be Pepsi.

IBM, 3M, PepsiCo Among Leading US Firms That House Chinese Communist Party Units: Leaked Database

Hundreds of Chinese Communist Party (CCP) members are embedded within the Chinese divisions of major U.S. corporations, from IBM to PepsiCo to 3M, a leaked CCP-member database revealed.

The existence of Party units within foreign companies in China is hardly surprising, given that the regime mandates any organization with at least three CCP members to form a Party branch. But the 1.95 million CCP member list, which includes names, levels of education, ethnicity, and the Party branches they belong to, was to date the biggest revelation on the scale of the CCP's influence on international companies.

Most of the members in the database are from the country's southeastern coastal metropolis of Shanghai.

New York-headquartered tech firm IBM has at least two dozen Party units with 808 members in China.

3M, a manufacturer of consumer and health care goods, including N95 respirators and other medical products critical to preventing COVID-19 spread, employs at least 230 CCP members within five Party units.

PepsiCo, the multinational snack and beverage company, has 45 employees listed under the company's Party branch committee.

Dow Chemical Company, one of the world's three largest chemical producers, lists 337 CCP members in four Party committees.

Other notable U.S. firms on the list include Westin Hotel & Resorts owned by Marriott International (23 members); analytics firm Nielsen Holdings (94); leading food company Mars Food (14); and insurance provider MetLife (31).

The U.S. companies and Party branches mentioned are by no means exhaustive. As of 2016, around 75,000 foreign businesses—accounting for over 70 percent of the roughly 106,000 foreign firms in China—have established Party units, according to state-run media People's Daily.

The development of CCP units picked up pace from 2002, after Beijing's top leadership "wrote the obligations of nonpublic firms' Party organizations into the Party charter, providing evidence for the nonpublic firms' Party organizations to host activities and play their roles," according to Chinese media reports from 2002.

State media reported that the country currently has nearly 92 million CCP members. While the database represents only a small fraction of the total membership, it's a key piece of the puzzle for uncovering the regime's penetration of international companies, said Bill Gertz, national security correspondent for The Washington Times in an interview.

Early this month, the Trump administration imposed travel restrictions on CCP members and their immediate families, reducing the maximum duration of stay for those with B1/B2 visitor visas from 10 years to one month.

China Is 'All About Lying To The World' About Its Role In Coronavirus, Says Rep. Crenshaw

Republican Texas Rep. Dan Crenshaw said Monday that American policy makers need to keep a watchful eye on China because "they are all about lying to the world" about their role in unleashing the coronavirus.

Let's also not forget that they stopped domestic travel within China to curb the spread of the virus but they wouldn't stop international travel," Crenshaw told "Fox & Friends." "They are all about lying to the world."

China attempted to cover up the initial outbreak of the coronavirus and sought assistance from the World Health Organization to do so.

"One of my favorite lies from the Chinese is that a bunch of U.S. Army soldiers were spreading the virus in a Wuhan wet market as if it's our guys that like to go eat that soup in Wuhan," Crenshaw continued, referencing an erroneous story that members of the U.S. military introduced COVID-19 to China.

Crenshaw noted that President Donald Trump banned travel from China to the U.S. early in the coronavirus pandemic.

"You know, January 31 he did severely limit all travel from China. Joe Biden called that xenophobic and has said in the past China is not going to eat our lunch, man."

When running for the Democratic presidential nomination, Biden downplayed China's ability to compete with the United States but seemed to reverse that position days later when he said, "I don't suggest China is not a problem."

Critics accused Trump of racism for banning travel from China.

Crenshaw said too many people are ignoring China's actions. "They don't take this seriously. That's actually my biggest worry. Those of us who are actually paying attention know very well what the Chinese' intentions are: the foreign policy consensus from a couple decades ago where China will rise as a partner with the United States is totally over."

"And we have to go into this with eyes wide open. So what can we do about it?"

Crenshaw suggested the answer was to legislate against China. "For instance I have a bill that allows us to change the Foreign Sovereignties Immunity Act and allow private actors here in the United States [to] sue China for damages from coronavirus," he said.

"The factory's workers made between 1,879 and 2,088 yuan a month, or roughly $255 to $283, which would be below minimum wage in some parts of China. The average manufacturing employee in urban China made twice as much money as the factory's workers, or roughly 4,280 yuan a month, according to national data from 2014"

Chinas GDP per capita suggests that there is massive income inequality.

I´m thinking what chinese do on paper, differs vastly from what they do in practice.

I dont know about the productivity but I have always had the assumption that the chinese work really hard.

Cheap and work very hard.

Just throwing some thoughts in the air.

'China Will Expand Its Aggressive Stance': Taiwan A Red Line, Biden Must Be Strong, Japanese Deputy Defense Minister Says

President-elect Biden should be firm in supporting Taiwan against Chinese aggression, a top Japanese defense official urged Friday, emphasizing that Taiwan's safety is a red line.

"We are concerned China will expand its aggressive stance into areas other than Hong Kong. I think one of the next targets, or what everyone is worried about, is Taiwan," the Japanese State Minister of Defense Yasuhide Nakayama. on Friday, told Reuters.

Nakayama, Japan's deputy defense minister, hoped Biden would maintain a similar stance on Taiwan like outgoing President Donald Trump, who had increased military sales to the island country, whose control China claims. Trump had also increased American engagement with Taiwan during his tenure, Reuters reported. This move had brought the United States and China to further tensions.

"So far, I haven't yet seen a clear policy or an announcement on Taiwan from Joe Biden. I would like to hear it quickly, then we can also prepare our response on Taiwan in accordance," Nakayama added, according to Reuters.

China Jails Citizen Journalist for 4 Years Over COVID-19 Reporting

Former lawyer convicted of 'picking quarrels and provoking trouble'

Chinese citizen journalist Zhang Zhan was sentenced to four years in prison on Monday, becoming the first known reporter to be sentenced by Beijing for providing first-hand information about the CCP virus pandemic inside China.

Zhang, a 37-year-old former lawyer, was convicted of "picking quarrels and provoking trouble" by the Pudong New Area People's Court in Shanghai, according to her defense lawyers Zhang Keke and Ren Quanniu.

Zhang appeared in court in a wheelchair and her mother cried loudly after hearing her sentence.

"Picking quarrels and provoking trouble" and "subversion of state power" are two common charges the Chinese regime uses to imprison dissidents.

Trump Administration Strengthens Order Banning US Investment in Chinese Military Companies

The Trump administration has strengthened an executive order that bans U.S. investment in Chinese military companies, according to a notice published by the Treasury Department late on Monday.

The Treasury Department issued a "Frequently Asked Questions" notice that outlines further details for President Donald Trump's November executive order (E.O.) 13959. The notice said that the Trump administration would prohibit exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and index funds from financing communist Chinese military companies and any subsidiaries that are owned or controlled by the Chinese military.

"[The prohibition] ensures U.S. capital does not contribute to the development and modernization of the People's Republic of China's (PRC) military, intelligence, and security services," Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said in a statement.

Russia and Putin were a distraction from the eight hundred lb gorilla in the room.

China Is Taking Us Out From Within

Patrick Byrne, founder and former CEO of Overstock, said that China is "taking us out from within" during an interview with Dr. Jerome Corsi on Monday.

"The greatest way to fight a war, in the Chinese way of thinking, is not to have to fight at all. That's what they've done here," Byrne said.

Byrne studied Chinese history at Beijing Normal University from 1983 to 1984. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Chinese studies from Dartmouth College.

"Though we spend a trillion dollars a year between our military and our intelligence, national security circles ... that trillion dollars we have and we've built, you know, things that can stop all their planes and their missiles and all kinds of things. But we missed the one they use, which is not a fight at all, not firing a bullet or missile at all, but taking us out from within. And that's what's going on."

Byrne pointed out that the Chinese regime is engaged in "a slow coup."

"It's a revolution. The stages of such a revolution are very well mapped out. We understand this. It's demoralization, disorientation, crisis, then normalization: those four steps."

"The demoralization is what happened this year with COVID," Byrne continued.

"The disorientation is this kookiness we've been seeing for about six months," Byrne said, referring to Antifa, the Black Lives Matter movement, and other things, such as buildings and police stations being lit on fire, and people being harassed for their political views while out dining.

"That's all to disorient you. It's to tell you, 'You are not living in the America you thought you were living in,'" he said.

He asserted that Beijing only needed to secure six counties to steal the election.

"Political scientists can tell you, to steal the United States you don't need to cheat in elections everywhere. You need six counties where you cheat the heck out of those counties. And you can flip the six states that they are in and thereby flip the Electoral College and steal the country."

Byrne mentioned an election irregularity in Atlanta, Georgia, where a water main break was reported, and poll observers and media were told to leave. However, four people stayed and kept counting the ballots.

The water leak "was actually a urinal that had overflowed," according to the chief investigator of the issue.

The last phase is normalization, Byrne said, in which the "media is just beating it into your head."

"They're violating every precept of journalistic integrity," Byrne said, criticizing the media for ignoring the evidence that has been presented claiming election fraud.

Byrne pointed out that thousands of people risked their lives to testify in affidavits, telling of the fraud and irregularities they witnessed.

"So those are the four stages we're going through, and it's my assertion that the hand of China is behind this."
