Beijing Accelerating Plans to Replace US Dollar as World Reserve Currency: Chinese Professor

The Chinese regime is accelerating its efforts to challenge the U.S. dollar's dominance in global markets and trade by taking advantage of the economic shifts caused by the pandemic, a Chinese professor recently revealed.

In the post-pandemic world, China should be the "one who decides the benchmark of value," Di Dongsheng, associate dean of the School of International Studies at Renmin University in Beijing said in a video posted on Chinese social media on Feb. 4. "The currency that fixes the price will eventually be the renminbi."

The professor last April described the pandemic as an opportunity "unseen in 100 years" for the regime to realize its goal of making "all seven billion people in the world pay for [China]."

WHO's skepticism of China too late

If only World Health Organization director general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus had been as skeptical about China's claims about COVID-19 at the start of the pandemic as he is now.

Who knows how many lives could have been saved globally, including in Canada?

Last week, Tedros — widely criticized from the start of the pandemic for being too trusting about what China was telling the world about COVID-19 — appeared to have had enough.

He said China's lack of co-operation with the WHO's scientific mission to Wuhan in January — a year after the outbreak was first detected there — meant the WHO could not rule out the possibility COVID-19 leaked out of the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

That was surprising because the WHO's own report of its scientific mission to Wuhan — under the close eye of China's authorities who denied it access to important raw data — said this was the least likely explanation for how COVID-19 originated.

But Tedros, after reviewing that report, said only further investigation by independent experts returning to China and given full access to scientific data could rule out the possibility COVID19 escaped from a lab, which China has always denied.

The larger concern is that finding the original source of the pandemic — initially thought to have been a live animal market in Wuhan, but with evidence now suggesting the outbreak may have started earlier — is crucial to understanding the outbreak and preparing for future ones.

Given China's obsession with secrecy — at the start of the pandemic it arrested and threatened doctors who were accurately telling the world COVID-19 was spreading by human transmission — we may never find the true origins of the deadly coronavirus.

We do know that during the crucial first weeks of the pandemic, when it might have been possible to contain it within China, its dictators were minimizing the seriousness of the outbreak and insisting there was little or no evidence of human transmission.

That led the WHO to underestimate the threat of COVID-19 early on, which led to the world underestimating it, including Canada.

We all know the terrible result.

So it's good Tedros is now skeptical about information coming out of China about COVID-19, except it's a year too late.

As a reaction to calling China's actions in East Turkestan(Xinjiang) a genocide, this is what China's hyper nationalist media said.

Amid the flood of official Chinese outrage at Canada's Feb. 22 resolution was also this dedicated editorial in Global Times, an English-language tabloid put out by People's Daily, the official newspaper of the Chinese Communist Party. In it, the Five Eyes — the intelligence-sharing alliance of the U.S., U.K., New Zealand, Australia and Canada — are branded an "axis of white supremacy" beholden to neo-Nazi interests. "They have formed a US-centered, racist, and mafia-styled community, willfully and arrogantly provoking China and trying to consolidate their hegemony as all gangsters do," it wrote, taking particular issue with the resolution's call for Canada to boycott the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. In August, an editorial in China Daily also took up the theme of Canada as a bastion of anti-Asian racism. "Chinese Canadians are still a disadvantaged minority group in Canada and face the rising risk of becoming scapegoats for Canada's domestic problems and victims of systemic racism," it wrote .

The Hong Kong edition of The Epoch Times is temporarily suspending distribution to repair damaged equipment after an attack on April 12—the fifth attack on the printing plant since it was established in 2006.

In the early hours of April 12 local time, four masked intruders barged their way into the warehouse, wielding two sledgehammers and a knife hidden inside a plastic bag.

The four men smashed printing press equipment and tossed construction debris on the equipment before fleeing in a white van. Among the items damaged were multiple computers and the printing press's central control panel. The men warned a print shop employee to "go away," with one saying, "Don't force me to do anything." They also stole a computer as they left.

Police officers arrived shortly afterward and told Epoch Times employees that the department's crime unit would investigate.

The Hong Kong edition of The Epoch Times has decried the attack as a crime against Hong Kong's liberties and the rule of law.

"These thugs are not just targeting The Epoch Times Hong Kong, but also the independent media outlets in Hong Kong," the outlet said in a statement. "It's a malicious attack on basic societal norms such as ... press freedom."

Rep. Michelle Steel (R-Calif.) described the break-in as "a direct assault on Hong Kong's free press.

At the very least, Fauci has provided cover for China.

Fauci Was the Worst Choice to Helm COVID Response

In what's supposed to be a major scoop, the Daily Mail just published "Worrying new clues about the origins of Covid: How scientists at Wuhan lab helped Chinese army in secret project to find animal viruses."

It may not be quite that big—the Gateway Pundit revealed some of this information a year ago—but there are significant new facts, including that a People's Liberation Army colonel, Cao Wuchun, who is on the board of the Wuhan Institute of Virology, studied epidemiology at Cambridge, the very seat of advanced experimental science in the United Kingdom. Think Stephen Hawking. (Have the "Five Eyes" gone blind?)

Having finished his studies, Cao is now a Chinese regime advisor on bioterrorism. The DM added "He was second-in-command of the military team sent into the city under Major General Chen Wei, the country's top biodefence expert, to respond to the new virus and develop a vaccine."

Suspicious, no?

But wait, there's more, as they say:

"Documents obtained by The Mail on Sunday reveal that a nationwide scheme, directed by a leading state body, was launched nine years ago to discover new viruses and detect the 'dark matter' of biology involved in spreading diseases."

The DM goes on to tell us a Chinese scientist who published the first genetic sequence on COVID-19 (now more accurately than ever called the CCP virus by The Epoch Times) apparently found 143 new diseases in the first three years of the project.

All this although the, at this point, best known Chinese virologist, Professor Shi Zhengli, aka "Bat Woman" for her many trips to find virus samples in bat caves, denied U,S. allegations last month that the Chinese military were involved with the lab.

Interestingly, Shi was one of the five team leaders of the above-mentioned project with... Colonel Cao Wuchun.

Must be a mix-up somewhere, no? Or the Big Lie.

So where's Dr. Fauci in all this—the most highly paid employee of our federal government who changes his mind more often than a ditzy housewife in a fifties sitcom?

The answer may lie in something called "gain of function" research. If you're unfamiliar with the term, it's bio-speak, a euphemism of sorts, for repurposing an animal virus so it can be contracted by a human.

You could call it the Devil's work—the kind of thing Dr. Mengele might have done if he were still with us.

Some of this research is for defensive use, but other aspects inevitably are, well.... Which would you rather die from, a nuclear bomb or a carefully-designed biological weapon that impacted the entire globe and never went away? I'd go with the former. It would at least be instantaneous.

"Gain of function" experimentation—nightmarish as it is—has been going on in more countries than we would want to know, but, thankfully, the U. S. outlawed it domestically in 2014.

This must not have sat well with Dr. Fauci.

The man the mainstream media idolizes and has appeared on almost as many magazine covers as Jacqueline Kennedy took our taxpayer dollars and sent them to Wuhan to support the lab and, whether intentionally or not, help continue this research.

The exact details of this are unclear but the results certainly are clear.

Also unclear is the extent the doctor knew the Chinese military were involved with the Wuhan lab. It would be interesting to find out, although with Colonel Cao on the board and so prominent in the lab's activities for so many years, it's hard to imagine Fauci, a frequent visitor, wouldn't have had some idea, whether he chose to acknowledge it or not.

I hasten to point out I absolutely do not think COVID-19 was promulgated on purpose. It is most likely the accidental product of ongoing "gain of function" research at the Wuhan lab that, as Fauci undoubtedly also knew, was being criticized for its lax security measures.

The Chinese Communist Party—for its continued "gain of function" research and its obfuscation of the ensuing COVID disaster—is to blame for everything that happened after that. So far, they have escaped retribution.

Dr. Fauci, of course, kept his mouth shut on the matter. Don't bite the hand that feeds you or, more precisely, that you fed.

Trump was saddled with Fauci as the director of the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, one of the more unfortunate occurrences of our time.

That such a person should have become, and still is, the public face of our fight against COVID-19 would make a good sequel to a film about yet another doctor... Strangelove.
