So true Herman..

The hypocrisy in this from blaming all police, to discarding social distancing is so blatant.

The police function is essential to a civilized society. And there are times when that function can only be performed by agents of the government willing and able to use force. Give me the police over the militia in Seattle.

Does any thinking person really want untrained groups of cop wannabes confronting "suspicious" characters in a neighbourhood? That's how Trayvon Martin got killed by George Zimmerman. All of the problems with race, but also class, would be exacerbated if local communities took it upon themselves to do police work.

The most shocking part of Trump's win was how little self-reflection it generated among the governing class in both parties. There was definitely bellyaching about what a whack job Trump was. There were also a ton of excuses.

Blacks overwhelmingly support sleepy Joe because he wants to bring back segregation.

Calgary is the only major city in Canada where all frontline officers are equipped with body cameras in the interest of transparency and accountability — at a significant cost to taxpayers.

Nevertheless, a cell phone video surfaced from an October 2019 encounter between Calgary police and a 51-year old white woman that shows two male officers forcefully arresting her in her home as they both hold her down while she cries out "I can't breathe."

Both officers were wearing BWCs yet the public is learning of this case now only because the woman has filed a formal complaint and contacted the media.

No BWC footage has been released in this case, and the police service has no plans to release the video publicly citing policy, legal and privacy reasons.

Even more concerning, Calgary police have not released the BWC footage to the woman or her lawyer despite repeated requests to do so. Transparency appears to be absent here.

If that's the case, the great expense is in vain

The problem is that cops have powerful public sector unions. Just because there is video of cops, doesn't mean it's going to be available for public viewing. Their snivil serpent union will make sure that doesn't happen.
