Judges in western democracies are largely unaccountable based on the premise that if they were accountable, it would improperly influence their decision making. So they act with relative impunity. It does not matter that their decision making is already influenced by their political and religious beliefs, personal values, relationships, acquaintances, moods and emotions. Not to mention corruption.



The entire judicial system is still based on centuries old British principles and rules as outdated as the monarchies themselves.



The judicial system in the US seems to be drifting further and further away from protecting communities in lieu of racial or social politics.



This is tantamount to "one law for them, one law for us". The exact injustice the whole system was designed to avoid.
