Rush Limbaugh deactivated his Twitter account on Friday after the technology giant permanently banned President Donald Trump. Limbaugh was followed by over 88 million people on Twitter.



Others left Twitter on Friday after the ban of Trump, including radio host Mark Levin. Some called for people to join them on Parler, a Twitter competitor. Twitter also banned a slew of Trump supporters, including lawyer Sidney Powell and Michael Flynn, Trump's former national security adviser.



Parler was subsequently removed from Google's online store and threatened by Apple.



A number of Democrat legislators praised Twitter's ban. "While long overdue, I commend twitter for moving to ban Donald Trump from the platform permanently.



"Twitter may ban me for this but I willingly accept that fate: Your decision to permanently ban President Trump is a serious mistake. The Ayatollah can tweet, but Trump can't. Says a lot about the people who run Twitter," Senate Judiciary Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) wrote.



"Twitter's permanent suspension of President Trump is beyond disturbing. Instead of fostering open debate, this move will deepen the divide in this country," added Rep. Diana Harshbarger (R-Tenn.). "Unacceptable does not even begin to describe this move."

Facebook removed the popular, anti-Democratic Party "WalkAway" page from its platform Friday, according to a tweet from WalkAway founder Brandon Straka.



WalkAway is a grass-roots campaign that shares stories from those who "can no longer accept the current ideology of liberalism and what the Democratic Party has become."

I'm getting really tired of Global News..



I've gotten my news from there for twenty years..



When the NDP were the government they were more like their spokesperson than reporting on the government..



Now that the UCP is in government, they report like NDP MLA than an impartial news service..



But, today was my limit..



Today, they interviewed an expert on social media misinformation..



The expert was a supporter of social media's latest censorship blitz of anybody who doesn't support the American Democratic pary's blatant hypocrisy on riots, and who oppose the science of lock downs..



He claimed that people that lean right are most likely to believe what he labels misinformation, and big tech must remain vigilant against people who don't conform..



What is happening in North America?



My family fled this kind of repression in pre democratic Taiwan.

This all goes back to 2016. Hillary was supposed to win easily. Woke corporations, with big tech, and the Davos set were shocked when their takeover of the US never happened. For four years they undermined the Trump administration with no consequences. Now that they have total control, they are making sure average people never have a say again.

As a traditional liberal, I'm appalled by these brown shirt tactics of big tech and big government to suppress opposing viewpoints. It pains me to say this, but you haven't seen anything yet. Big tech owns Washington now.

Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador condemned social media companies for censoring President Donald Trump this week, saying that he does not "accept" the move as being okay.

Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, a fierce critic of Russian President Vladimir Putin, slammed Twitter on Saturday for its censorship of President Donald Trump, calling the move "unacceptable."



"In my opinion, the decision to ban Trump was based on emotions and personal political preferences. Don't tell me he was banned for violating Twitter rules. I get death threats here every day for many years, and Twitter doesn't ban anyone."







The statement from Navalny, who recently survived two assassination attempts via poisoning, comes after Twitter permanently banned Trump after this week's riot in Washington, D.C.
