I have a nagging question. Why were American & Allies civilians there in the first place?  .. and even with their kids ffs?



It was never very safe anywhere in the country at any time

They were visiting their relatives... Spending the holidays.

US Embassy Issues Security Alert For Kabul Airport



The US embassy in Afghanistan has issued a security alert advising American citizens to avoid travelling to Kabul's airport.

1. Its Pashtun members (the majority and driver of Taliban) surrendered to the Taliban who are fellow Pashtuns.

Now Pashtun tribe 100% run the country just as they did before 2001 after evolving from the Pashtun Mujahedeen



Taliban consists 100% of Pashtun tribe



It is totally a tribal land .. the word "country" not really applying at all.

Sadly, as they get a bit older,  males will be hidden from view with unruly supposedly  macho beards and loose body cover ....  .. females body / hair / face covered in usually black apparel



It is unlikely ever to change as there is no challengers in the cards to the Talis



So sad to see what could be a great people pushed / dragged back into the dark ages

At least 6 countries have special forces going to their stranded people, getting them and taking them to the airport .. UK, Germany  & India among them .. albeit at great risk

Some have had to fight their way out of difficult siotuations

I noticed that about older Pashtuns.

Finland sent a company of special jägers to Kabul airfield.





Seen as how these people were warned to leave Afghanistan many weeks ago.





And they are Afghans, not Finns.
