Canadian Women's Hockey Team Beats Finland 3-0

To tell the truth I've pretty much stopped watching Olympic competition of any sort since they pulled women's softball out of the summer games. There are hopes that it will be reinstated in 2020.



But I did catch the women's sprint in Biathlon the other day. It was pretty amazing.



I need to git me one of those 22 Biathlon target rifles, Not that I'm going to get my big fat ass on a pair of cross country skies anytime soon, it's just that the rifles are super cool.

I was surprised to read that Japan's women's hockey team played well, but lost 1-0 to Sweden..



They came even closer with Russia losing 2-1 on a late third period goal..



This is the first time that Japan has qualified since the Olympics in Nagano in 1998.

Will it be Russia vs Canada in the finals ? I hope the Russia Canada hockey rival re emerges. The Russians were following that rivalry in the 70's possibly even more  avidly than Canadians were.

I am not that sure about this, so maybe someone who follows hockey closer than I do like Romero can offer some predictions?

I wished I had seen that game. I get more into hockey during the Olympics than the Stanley Cup playoffs.

It was awesome being downtown Vancouver when Canada won gold in the last Olympics.



Canada vs. our arch rivals USA tomorrow morning! 4:30am pacific. Ugh. Should I try to get up at 4:30 or just stay up all night?

It was awsome to be in Canada when Sidney Crosby got the goal in overtime. They  entire country erupted in joy !
