True. It's ON that keeps him in for all of us

Then your exposing the flaw in our "democracy" perfectly.

In Canada's version of democracy, yes.
Our system is completely dysfunctional in the tasks a govt is supposed to perform to work for the benefit of all of its people

Ahh gotcha, I used to drive a Honda civic and was told my car only needs regular fuel and won't benefit from premium.  I just googled out the fuel type and still so much for me to learn.

Very true. If compression is low, premium does no good. It's not that premium is "better in itself" ... it's simply needed for performance  engines  to operate correctly

Is more provincial power the answer to Canada's democratic malaise?

That is the way our confederation is meant to be. Trudeau has been ursurping provincial jusrisdiction since he came to power.

Our pm is exceptionally stupid/inept. He assumes all of us are on his level.

Gasoline issues aside, is he not entitled to assume you are stupid if you continue to give him political power?

Frankly, if I were in his place and committed the range of idiotic acts people have described in this forum yet still get elected, I would have little respect for the intellectucal capacity of those who voted for me.

Canada, it may be argued, is a clear example of people turned stupid by politicians. Not the only one, but a good one nonetheless.

America is still by far the finest example, but past Australian political leaders indicate that we are well in the mix of stupid countries. In fact the current premier of Victoria might be clear evidence that we're near the top of the tree.

Only fools vote for fools, right?

Our Western voting systems are corrupt. To not elect a POS is a rare and wonderful thing.

If we're agreeing on something, I may need to re-examine my statement for fallacies or inaccuracies..

I read it twice. We're good.

I may need to fact check it with a non-authoritarian liberty lover.

At the federal level in Canada, there is nothing to vote for.

Bricktop

Likewise here.

Which is why, despite the law mandating everybody MUST vote, I don't vote.

It's worse here. We have five parties in our federal parliament, All of them are centre-left. Take immigration and refugees. None of them mention it in their party platforms because they all believe more is better and you are a racist if you say the numbers are too high.

We have a choice of 2. Just 2. Every election. Everywhere. Just like the US, I suppose.

What choice do we have when all parties want massive unsustainable immigration levels and climate change poverty.
