Eagle was a good poster. He leaned left but he wasn't radical. He was reasonable and rational and intelligent.



That is a big difference between a real liberal and today's breed of "fascist" liberal. In many ways liberals today aren't really liberals. They are rigidly opinionated, indoctrinated, narcissistic, arrogant, virtue signaling, socialists that base their arguments on emotional rhetoric and flights of social and political fantasy.

He was before my time. He couldn't have been too progressive if he was reasonable and rational and intelligent.

I never said he was "progressive". Progressives occupy a segment of the far radical end of the liberal ideological spectrum. There are liberals that occupy all levels of the leftwing political spectrum, from barely left of moderate to the loony tunes progressive radical and everything inbetween. Some of my most interesting encounters with other posters on these forums have been with those individuals that leaned left to some degree on various social or political issues... These were classic liberals, open minded, intellectual with the ability to critically think their way through a situation or discussion without resorting to histrionic name calling. In may ways my own points of view on certain social issues lean or leaned left at one time or another in my life.



Today's liberal, more often than not, is a complete moron... A supremely arogant imbecile who rejects truth and reason in favor of an agenda so mentally corrupt and so irrational that it defies conventional rationality...They have moved so dramatically to the left of the political scale that their intellectual capacity has shrunk nearly to the lowest intellectual level in recorded modern human history. Their ability to use logic and reason is completely occluded by emotional rhetoric, crazy off the wall concepts of social development and a desparate need for complete control of all things sociopolitical. Their attitude and approach to life smacks of overwhelming personal insecurity,  narcissism and intellectual indigence. These types of people are liberals in name only.

I miss eagle's contributions too. I am a liberal in the traditional sense myself. We had a lot in common on social issues even though we disagreed on the economy. He always backed up his position with a sound argument.

They just announced a new rule at BF a few days ago about not allowing kids being mentioned in nasty ways, but it's kind of too little, too late, as I've observed quite a few individuals have left BF, most likely due to the recurrent laming. If you want to spend all day insulting admin and seamajor, reading flynn,  and engaging in childish political demagoguery, than BF may be fun otherwise it's really gone downhill.
