Taught my 10 year old to brown mincemeat, drain any fat, and assemble the components for a Tex Mex burrito. Everything but spicing her own beef. That would have been info overload. I just want safe oven top and vegetable cutting skills. Later on, we'll dispense with the seasoning packets.



She was so proud serving her mother a plate....

Just finished feeding the stray cats and putting flea ointment (sorry Mena but there's no other way to say it LoL) on a couple that are friendly enough to let me do it.

I may or may not have had enough coffee yet... the grey matter is still a tad sluggish from waking before dawn.

Damn monsoon blew through and broke a big limb off one of my Palo Verde trees so I'm waiting for a tree trimmer to come by today and give me a quote. Figure I may as well do all the trees while I'm at it so I'll get a price for that too. Hope it's not too much. I was going to wait until winter to get it all done because in summer you need all the shade you can get but oh well that's life in the desert.

Better than I expected, 1800 bucks to do the whole job. Two large Palo Verdes cut down and stump ground to kill the roots and a big haircut to a Ficus tree that hasn't been trimmed since it was planted 16 years ago. Maybe falling gas prices are doing some good.

Groceries are insane.  I'm spending sometimes more than 800 a month on groceries. It sucks. And I shop a lot at Cosco and Aldi.
