He's genuine. If he was being a fake hypocrite, I'd have called him out on it.

My husband has been to several countries in that region, but for very short periods of time..

I heard it was hard to get a tourist visa for China back then. I heard individual travel was not allowed. You had to be part of a chaperoned group. Which was probably the case with caskur's cousin.
