Here's how silly the rule is: any student could have premarital sex every day and the university would never know. Yet a woman who's showing pregnancy would be kicked out.

ALL universities have rules regarding codes of conduct for perspective or attending students...they are expected to abide by these rules or be suspended or discharged.....students, including many many christian students, accept these rules or they go somewhere else....TWU is no different ...it expects students attending there abide by their codes of conduct.....do you think it is easy for christian or jewish students to attend any of the other secular universities in canada which promote, the gay lifestyle, abortion, jewish apartheid, discrimination etc etc.....however, they realize it is the price they have to pay to attend....i haven't seen them trying to force the govt. to shut down the university or pressuring the law societies into not recognizing a law degree from a university promoting anti semitism and jewish apartheid....you lefties are really fucked up

This isn't even worth arguing about. You don't like TWU's rules, find a uni that fits your lifestyle. It really isn't that difficult to find one....NEXT!!

Regardless, forcing students to sign a contract saying they won't have sex is still wrong.  No where in the bible does it straight out state that premarital sex is a sin.

Why would anyone be surprised that a Christian university has biblical standards?

This is an intrusion into an individual's private life by an institution that, by definition, has no authority over the private lives of its students or how these students choose to "manage" their own sexuality.

It does not surprise me though for a Christian institute to enforce biblical standards..



The people that go there are adults attending on their own free will.

Uganda Christian University (UCU) expelled 26 girls from it's Kabale affiliate college for being pregnant and yet not married after doing random tests on the campus.



The students accuse the university for suspending them without hearing them out reports The New Vision. However, Godwin Kiiza, the Dean of Students, maintains that the students who were suspended were admitted as single students and they are not supposed to be engaged in a sexual immorality, that is, sex before marriage.

 

"Some students who go against our rules first face a disciplinary committee and if the committee finds them guilty of being of pregnant, they are suspended," he is reported to have said.



"Only six girls were pregnant and the rest had other problems and most of them were forgiven and allowed back to school," the university's Public relations officer, Reuben Twinomujuni, said.

So only the women who become pregnant get expelled, and anyone else engaging in premarital sex doesn't have a thing to worry about.
