The Human Condition.....

as a life long people watcher and student of the human condition i have always felt that the vast vast majority of people were so stupid as to be unable to survive without help.....the older i get i now realize that i underestimated the numbers and that the vast vast vast majority of people are too stupid to be allowed to meaningfully participate in society......ie: control it's destiny...i mean these people should be allowed to go about their daily business..it's just they should have no say in how it operates.....



i am more and more leaning to the centuries old tried and true test for determining who should be allowed to vote in a functioning democracy...property owners, men of means, title etc., taxpayers....these groups are the only ones capable and with sufficient interest and knowledge in governance to decide it's outcome.....others are just too stupid and dull to rationally study and adjudicate an issue and decide it's outcome based on the merits....allowing ignorance, greed and vested interests to control the outcome of political governance in this country has lead to it's demise from what it was originally envisioned......today, Canada is a failed experiment in social engineering.....an experiment gone horribly wrong....govt. involvement in peoples lives has been an unmitigated disaster....failing, and failing badly on all efforts. We now have in excess of 50% of the population dependent on govt. for some form of their monetary compensation...this was a deliberate and well thought plan by Trudeau and his socialist fellow travelers to enslave the population into a life of govt. dependance....it has worked brilliantly...people now look to govt. assistance as a "right"........not an earned "right".....but a deserved "right".....the few remaining real earners are egregiously taxed and shamed into supporting those unwilling to support themselves...this situation is untenable and will eventually collapse under it's own folly



i will add my thoughts at a later date regarding recent studies detailing the correlation between IQ, race and it's predictable outcomes for society......

I agree 100% with your assessment. One of the reasons the US is now saddled with a feckless, clueless leader is because of people who should not have the right to vote.



The following are paraphrased quotes that I witness on social media like Twitter and Facebook during the last US presidential election cycle.



"I got to vote for my Bro Obama because I got to protect my food stamps."



"My mom raised 5 kids on welfare and she is a saint. Romney thinks my mom is scum."



Then consider the fact that in the inner cities, with primarily minority voter precincts and where the population is overwhelmingly dependent on the government dole, they went almost 100% for Obama. In fact they voted in droves which was not normal for their demographic and as we are finding out now, sometimes twice. In some limited cases even their dead relatives cast a vote.  :x  



As you can see the problem is not just limited to Canada. Your neighbor to the south struggles with the same issue.

Voting should be restricted to people with skin in the game. Extending the vote to even more people who should not be allowed to decide anything sounds fair, but it is actually the exact opposite. Voting should be a privilege earned, not a right.

yes to all of the above...the only people that want to increase voter participation are those at the trough.....they know that braindead youths will buttress their demands for more and more lolly....i agree on the USA Renee, and in fact you may be worse off than we are...most of your citizens actually believe they live in a democracy.....one look at the electoral college voting system would quickly dissuade then of that idea.....the system is irreparably broken and no amount of tinkering will repair it....we now have one, soon to be two, generations raised under this system of govt. control and largesse...once the current older generation passes there will be no one alive who can tell people what it was like when we were at least marginally a free society...that is tragic

Homy...don't be silly.....i collect UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE in the winter...insurance by it's definition means someone, in this case me, has paid a premium to be insured from a layoff...when the layoff occurs i submit my INSURANCE claim and start receiving my insurance......no tax dollars are involved....as a matter of fact the federal govt. steals billions every year from the EI fund to cover handouts to undeserving layabouts and moochers........money that could be used to increase my insurance payouts
