So Biden dropped out of the presidential race on Sunday and endorsed his VP, Kamala Harris, for the Democratic ticket. The announcement sets the stage for Ms. Harris to secure the nomination against any challengers who may step up before the delegates cast their votes. That process for selecting a candidate has not taken place in the United States in decades.

This is from Business Insider, so take it with a grain of salt. Besides, I doubt there were many plumber is Indiana donating when they found out Harris will likely replace Biden. They were donatiing to Trump after his politically motivated convictions.

After Donald Trump's conviction, the former president's campaign said it raised $52.8M in 24 hours.
Democrats zoomed past those numbers in about half a day after Joe Biden dropped out of the race.
ActBlue, the Democrat's fundraising platform, raised well over $53 million since the announcement.

or further comparison, Trump's campaign took six months in 2023 to raise $58 million, federal records viewed by The New York Times showed.

ActBlue is also on track to surpass that record in less than 24 hours.

A YouGov poll of 1,582 U.S. adult citizens conducted between July 13 and 16 found 39 percent of respondents would vote for Harris if she was the 2024 Democratic presidential candidate, against 44 percent for Trump. This put Harris slightly behind Biden, who the survey found would lose to Trump by 41 percent of the vote against 43 percent.

Ipsos polled 992 registered voters across the U.S. on July 16 for Reuters. The survey placed Trump ahead of Biden in a presidential matchup by 43 percent of the vote against 41 percent. However, once Harris was subbed in as the candidate she tied with Trump on 44 percent.

Between July 2 and 4, 1,000 registered voters were polled for Politico by Bendixen & Amandi International. The survey found Harris one point ahead of Trump in a presidential matchup with 42 percent of the vote against 41 percent, while Biden was one point behind on 42 percent against 43 percent.

A CNN poll of 1,045 registered voters, conducted by SSRS between June 28 and 30, found Trump ahead of Biden nationwide with 49 percent of the vote against 43 percent. Trump also polled ahead of Harris but by a smaller margin, with the backing of 47 percent of registered voters against 45 percent.

Latest Election Projection featuring Trump vs Harris (July 15-20)

...it would appear that Harris has a ways to climb in order to catch Trump who still polls higher than a Democratic challenger

Just last week, Republicans couldn't be more confident in their prospects for November. This week, Democrats are riding high after successfully replacing an addled president without sparking a vicious primary or convention battle. Freeing up record amounts of money along the way. Neither side should rest easy. There's plenty more to come.

It looks like Kametoe has narrowed down her vp picks down to Josh Shapiro and Mark Kelly. Shapiro especailly will give her electoral chances a boost.

Nobody has replaced Biden, he'll be there until his term is up in January. All they did was strong arm him out of running again.

Also I may be wrong but as far as I know nobody is the official candidate until they're nominated at the convention. Delagates may have said they would vote for her but anything can happen between now and then.

Of course you are indeed correct.

Harris is all but guaranteed the nomination now with the endorsement of the Democrat royalty, the Obamas.

So, the Dem power brokers once again are choosing a weak candidate they can control. They are already meatshielding her like they did Biden. She wasn't thje border czar.

What the hell could Kameltoe possibly have said or done to reverse this so fast. Nobody knows shiot about her.

A new poll from The Wall Street Journal has found Vice President Kamala Harris neck and neck with Donald Trump after President Biden vacated the Democratic nomination for November's election.

"Only 37% of Biden voters were enthusiastic about him in early July, and now 81% of Harris voters are enthusiastic about her," Democratic pollster Mike Bocian, who conducted the survey with Republican pollster David Lee, told the Journal. "This is an astounding change."

The Journal poll does include good news for Trump, however. Republican pollster David Lee pointed out that Trump was trailing Biden in the July 2020 Journal poll by nine points.

"Donald Trump is in a far better position in this election when compared to a similar time in the 2020 election," Lee told the Journal.

Voters favor Trump on key issues like the economy, immigration, foreign policy and crime and lean toward Harris on abortion.

"Instead of what was shaping up to be a Trump win, America has a real, bona fide race on its hands," veteran political scientist and New England College President Wayne Lesperance told Fox News Digital this week. "Game on."
