Bill Gates, Microsoft co-founder and the fourth most wealthy person in the world, has acquired more than 242,000 acres of farmland across the United States, making him the top private farmland owner in the country.

The Land Report, a magazine provided by the Realtors Land Institute, said that based on its research, Bill and Melinda Gates obtained "an estimated 242,000 acres of farmland" overall. That farmland portfolio stretches across 18 states, according to the report.

The Gates' largest holdings are in Louisiana with about 69,000 acres, Arkansas with about 47,000 acres, Nebraska with about 20,000 acres, and more, according to The Land Report.

"It is not entirely clear how Gates' farmland is being used, or whether any of the land is being set aside for conservation," Forbes noted. Cascade Investments, Gates' personal investment company, did not return Forbes' request for comment, while The Epoch Times has reached out for comment. A spokesperson for Cascade also declined to comment on The Land Report.

Aha! What do you think it will be used for? Concentration Camps for reprogramming? ac_dunno

That may not be far off in the USA.

Observations:

The use of "as well."

In Canada. For example. This is a common usage of "as well" that I hear often in Canada. "I'd like to show you our East Wing that has newly built units. As well, I'll take you to the community hall while we are there."

In the USA. For example. "The family lives in Chicago, Illinois. They have relatives in the same area as well."

In Canada, I hear "as well" at the beginning of a sentence. In the USA, I hear it at the end of a sentence.

He is either an idiot or a liar. Probably both.

Pennsylvania Dem Lt. governor gets schooled after he claims 'lies' about election are 'not protected speech'

Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. John Fetterman, a Democrat, was condemned online Friday after claiming that rhetoric doubting the integrity of the 2020 presidential election, such as claims that it was "rigged" or "stolen," is not constitutionally protected speech.

Fetterman's assertion drew significant attention, with critics pointing out that lies are, in fact, generally protected by the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

"Lying is bad. It's also not the same as truly holding views that most agree are ignorant ['the earth is flat']. And most importantly, lying is still generally protected speech. This is why a plurality struck down the Stolen Valor Act as unconstitutional (United States v. Alvarez)," Amy Swearer, a legal fellow at the Heritage Foundation, explained.

"Fraud? Not protected. Libel? Not protected. Lying under oath? Not protected. But false statements, writ large? Still protected," Swearer added.

Journalist Sharyl Attkisson mocked, "WARNING LABEL: 'This claim is determined to be ridiculously false.' Signed, US Constitution (Will Twitter take it down? I'm not advocating it do so, just pointing out if they were 'fact checking' and treating supposedly false claims fairly; they would.)"

Omri Ceren, national security adviser for Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), sarcastically pointed out, "What if the lies about 'trying to steal the election' are published and echoed by the republic's most prominent media outlets, and are repeatedly debunked but nevertheless consistently revived by those outlets quoting anonymous officials, over half a decade? Hypothetically?"

Republican Sen. Rand Paul warned the Republican Party on Friday that there will be a mass exodus of supporters if some Republican lawmakers continue to support the second Democrat-led effort to impeach President Donald Trump.

Rep. Peter Meijer (R-Mich.) said on Jan. 17 that joining with nine House Republicans in voting to impeach President Donald Trump may have ended his political future.

Meijer's comments came after Jason Miller, chief strategist for the Trump campaign, warned last week that Republicans who back the impeachment of Trump would likely be voted out of office.

"If you're a Republican House member, or you're a Republican senator, I don't know how else to say this: you are probably self-selecting to end your political future if you vote for the impeachment of President Trump," Miller said on Steve Bannon's "War Room" podcast.

Politician says pickup trucks glorify 'violence and dominion,' questions male truck owners' masculinity — but then gets angry when they question his.

A Vancouver politician is receiving worldwide attention after he said that "unnecessary trucks" are complicit in the "glorification of violence and domination."

He also questioned the masculinity of male truck owners, but was clearly taken aback when social media users came to question his own masculinity following the lengthy rant.

Mathew Bond, a North Vancouver, Canada, council member shared a photo of a large pickup truck on social media, which he captioned, "The glorification of violence and domination. #unnecessarytrucks #petromasculinity."

Lou Dobbs said that Mitch McConnell and House minority leader Kevin McCarthy judging Trump without due process means that neither of them "belongs in the office" that they hold.

Fox Business host Lou Dobbs said Wednesday that Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell bore a lot of "responsibility" for the results of the 2020 election and beyond.

Dobbs was joined by guest Leo Terrell on his broadcast of "Lou Dobbs Tonight" to discuss the Republican leaders, and said that "all three bare tremendous responsibility." He also accused McCarthy and McConnell of judging former President Donald Trump "without due process" over his impeachment.

"One, Kevin McCarthy said that the President bore responsibility for the mob that assaulted Capitol," Dobbs said. "Two, Mitch McConnell said that he [Trump] bore responsibility, and that he would make it a vote of conscience in an impeachment on the president and his future. And, thirdly, Ronna McDaniel, the chair of the Republican National Committee, as RNC chair lost, lost the Senate control. She also lost the presidency. And she has been re-elected to head the RNC. In point of fact, all three bare tremendous responsibility for what we saw ensue from November 3rd on and the results."

Dobbs went on to say that McConnell and McCarthy judging Trump without due process means that neither of them "belongs in the office" that they hold.

"I concur with your analysis on McCarthy and McConnell. I find it disingenuous for those two leaders, so-called leaders, to comment on a decision regarding the impeachment proceedings without hearing the evidence," Terrell responded. "I didn't hear anything from Donald Trump's speech, and I challenge the Democrats and these two Republicans to point out what did he do to warrant this impeachment, which I call frivolous, and this frivolous trial."

SHOCKING POLL: Majority of Americans think 'other Americans' are greatest risk to US

A new, shocking CBS News poll shows that the majority of Americans believe they're facing a new enemy: other Americans.

More than two-thirds of poll respondents said they believe democracy in the U.S. is "threatened," and 54% said "other people in America" are the "biggest threat to the American way of life," rather than economic factors, viruses, natural disasters, or foreign actors.

Will it be possible to unite our nation with statistics like that? On "The Glenn Beck Radio Program," Glenn and Stu discussed the poll numbers and what they mean for our future.
