Amazing Fragile Pencil Lead Art - Jasenko Đorđević's miniature pencil lead sculptures.

"The pencil has always been a tool for making art, but, in this instance, it is the art," Đorđević told My Modern Met, an online community celebrating creativity and positive culture.

"And that is the first thing that inspired me. It has always been very symbolic to me, the pencil itself, and every sculpture that arises from it has meaning and a story behind it."

QuoteSimone Biles quit the Olympic gymnastic team to take care of her mindfulness. As a result, the team finished second next to the Russians. Totally unexpected by the team that she would do this. Folks have mixed emotions but this is a slippery slope anyway. If you applaud her, you're woke. If you don't, you're racist because she's black.

It was a selfish, narcissistic act, a deed that perfectly defines coddled and selfie-obsessed Millennials. The only people who don't see it this way are the growing number of sports experts and fans who interpret all actions through a racial lens. The people making sports more racist again. They don't see an elite athlete folding in her biggest moment. They see a black woman who must be defended as though the plight of black people depends on her reputation.

Of course, it was about race again.

Not only did she betray her team, she deprived her opponents the opportunity of winning the game.

Its not a game if the best one quits... Its not a win after that.

I have a feeling that she quit because of something else.

A real injury or a big check from the woke industry.

It's the opposite of sportsmanship.

Apparently she failed to do some gymnast move and immediately quit after that.

I followed this up. She did not "deprive her opponents the opportunity of winning gold".

With her first event, her score was so low (after an awkward, low-scoring attempt on vault) that it was physically impossible for the US team to catch the Russians no matter how well they all did with the other disciplines (wherever the Russians finish,  they do not make major mistakes .. so were virtually guaranteed gold)

Had she continued to perform badly or even "fairly" well, they may have not medaled at all. She also knew there were 3 very good replacements standing by who could be counted on to be "on" & good

The rest of the team all performed well and without her, hung onto a silver medal ... the very best they could get .. with or without her .. after her major point loss in the first event. (after running her down from the cheap seats, are we clear here?)

Police received a call four hours later from a man reporting his wife missing

Police and firefighters in Sherbrooke, Que., allegedly mistook a woman's body for a mannequin and threw her remains into a dumpster, police Chief Danny McConnell said Thursday.

Firefighters were called to a brush fire behind a factory just after 10 a.m. on July 23 after witnesses allegedly said they thought a silicone mannequin had been set on fire, McConnell said.

Police were called to the scene about 10 minutes later and they spoke to witnesses, he added. After consulting with firefighters, police decided that what they thought was a mannequin would be taken to a dumpster behind the police station, which isn't accessible to the public.

McConnell said police received a call four hours later from a man reporting his wife missing, adding that they used a signal from the missing woman's cellphone to find her car, which was parked near the factory where the blaze had occurred.

He said investigators around 6:30 p.m. that evening decided to look into the dumpster for clues and discovered human remains.
