Do Nations have any control over their own destiny these days?

The recent stock market meltdown sent the world into a panic.



The Canadian dollar went down more than a cent.



Thing is, would it make any difference if it were a Prime Minister Justin Trudeau or Tom Mulcair?



They'd all say the same thing...that it's outside influences such as China or the United States tinkering with the world's financial system that was the root cause of the problem.



In other words, the best any leader of a mid-sized country like canada can do is react, not act.



Like everybody else, we're at the mercy of the global superpowers and super corporations.

I thought you were asking a question, but you're not. I think anyone except for the candidates themselves knows changing government does not affect a shrinking economy in China or overproduction in Saudi Arabia.
