Believe it or not the Holiday Season is almost upon us; time to set the mood with some tunes. Here's some music for the upcoming sabbat (New Year) or what most people would call Halloween :33es8qb_th:

Not really Halloween but it's fitting.

A clever fusion between "Corpse Bride" and "Nightmare". It works quite well. ac_biggrin

Renee, are you wicca? I won't freak out and pull out the stakes and pitch forks...I've known a lot of wiccans.

Bricktop

If, by wicca, you mean demented, unhinged, deranged and malicious then yes, yes she is.

I plead the 5th. I don't trust you Christ worshipers.   You're a bunch of pyromaniacs.

Seriously though, I can't really answer that because I don't really know. I've always been fascinated by these reconstructed pagan religions but mostly from an academic sense. I have more than a few relatives on my mothers side, my grandmother being one, who are or where know practitioners of what's called "Stregoneria" which is a quasi-Catholic kind of Italian folk magic, not to be confused with "Stregheria" which is a pre-Roman, Etruscan sorcery. As a kid I was always kind of drawn to it but never went any further than watching my grandmother and her lady friends perform rituals and prayers. After she died I never really gave it much active attention.

I have an ex-sister-in-law who is a Wiccan in the Gardnerian tradition and very heavily into it. She belongs to a coven and the whole nine yards. She hosts bonfire celebrations on her property on Samhain and Beltane. I have been privy to a lot of these events over the years and I enjoyed them and found them stimulating, emotionally, spiritually and in some cases physically. I can identify with a lot of their points of view on life, the world around them and how they fit in with it. If you come to my home you will find little mother-goddesses and horned Gods all over in unexpected places. I tend to collect them. In fact I used to have an almost life size sculpture of the Venus of Willendorf in my garden at my house in WA. I would love to have it shipped to me here but it would cost a fortune and I'm not sure the neighbors would appreciate it displayed in the backyard.  :laugh3:

So does that make me a wiccan, probably not.  ac_dunno
