Yes, he was. He was one of my favourite golfers.

RIP Arnie.

What a strange comment.

I read up on the guy...and tho he was good, and may have gone onto greater things, he wasn't outstanding.

His best year was 16-8, not even a 20 game winner.

I remember when they had all those great pitchers who could whip out a 20 game winning season, no prob.

They even had a 30 game winner in Denny McLean.

Professional baseball like Professional hockey is so watered down now, and the players get paid too much money for mediocre performance.

A player wins 10 games now, and they call that a stellar season, but in prior decades, he'd have been a jouneyman making regular visit to the farm club in Triple A baseball and making peanuts.

Arnold Palmer was the first golfer to earn a million dollars. Rory Mcilroy earned that from the FedExCup alone.

So if someone you know personally dies, do you go to the services and talk about how they didn't measure up to others?
I've learned that if someone asks you a really stupid question and you reply by telling them what time it is, they'll leave you alone

Hey, buffoon.

This is a memorial thread, not a treatise on the merits of current sport/rock/movie stars compared to those of yore.

Show some fucking respect.
