Big Business & the IMF have warned about the implications of Britain leaving the EU should the Brexit side win the upcoming referendum late this month.

The IMF predicts a severe economic contraction if Britain pulls out of the EU:

...loss of jobs, fewer opportunities due to lost trade, etc.

There could be some short term pain, but in the end Britain will still trade with Europe. Only after a yes vote they would regain border control.

Some possible implications for other EU nations if Britain decides to leave:

In the long run, and not too long run, UK will trade as before .. most other countries need UK more than it needs them.... but it will  accelerate the EU's  already started downward spiral

Even a close no to leaving the EU will accelerate a post EU world.

There will be a market reaction if there is a yes vote. Hopefully, it is only a reaction.

I have family in Kraut.  I remember just before the EU thing, that they said it would be the worst possible thing that could happen (a European Union)...

And they were right...

If the Brits bounce outta the EU, the Krauts will surely follow.  The Krauts only do things now to "make up for the wrongs of the past."  Joining the EU was of no benefit.

It worked well enough before the EU was implemented...  If Greece sinks, etc., that is their own fucking problem.  Not Germany, not England...

I had supper last night with my dad, just the two of us..

Strangely, this topic came up even though we almost never discuss international politics.

I read George Soros is spending large for the no side. That's hardly a surprise.

Well voting starts in hours. Latest polls show swing back to leave with 10% undecided

Polls factoring in "likelihood to vote" show leave well ahead

The undecided who do vote will decide it

....I'm betting and predicting the 'Remain' Side to win.

And all it may have taken was some crazed gunman to tip the 'Undecideds' to the other side.

They will likely stay.

Last week the media has been in full "save the useless EU mode" ... pretty hard to beat that when you have no way to fight back

Massive amounts of money are backing the remain side. Britain will stay.
