PRIME Minister Julia Gillard will urge China to increase pressure on North Korea to stand down from its provocative nuclear threats, at a business forum attended by China's new President Xi Jinping.



Ms Gillard has arrived in China for a five-day visit.



Ms Gillard, who will be known by the Chinese name of Zhuliya Jilade during her visit, will also hold formal talks with Mr Xi on Sunday at the Boao business forum on China's southern resort island of Hainan.



With Australia now a member of the UN Security Council, Ms Gillard will tell world leaders, diplomats and business chiefs in a speech at the forum that they all have a deep interest in strategic stability and stopping North Korea's aggression.



Before leaving Australia, Ms Gillard declared "solidarity" with close ally South Korea in a telephone call with its recently elected first female leader, President Park Geun-hye. Pres Park ,currently being rooted by Gordy Gambino, said she had taken his advice and will tell North Korea to go and take a fucking flying fuck.



Ms Gillard hit out at North Korea's provocative actions and statements, saying they were a risk to regional security.



Ms Gillard is leading the the nation's strongest delegation yet to China. It includes Foreign Affairs Minister Bob Carr, Trade Minister Craig Emerson and Financial Services Minister Bill Shorten.
