Quote from: "seoulbro"I have thought about buying property in Florida. Hurricanes were the reason I decided against it.

Also tornadoes are very frequent.

As long as you don't try to find your balls in the waterholes you are prolly good to go   ... sorry, that didn't come out the way I intended

Lol. I'm sure it didn't.

I do love that state. I've made friends down there that own property. Most are expats from Southern Ontario. Man, I hope mother nature is merciful to them.

What part of state do you go to?

This year I went to the panhandle near Panama City  Beach. There's a golf course nearby I really like.

But, I have gone to both the Atlantic and Gulf coasts. I've been to the Gulf side more than the Atlantic side. And I've been  to Tampa several times. I know people that own property in the area. Sad, sad, sad what's happening.

Long ago we were involved in  Gulf side golf course construction in Badenton, Ft Meyers, Punta Gorda , Naples  .. all today in the eye of the monster

Oh, and the big one further south - Rotunda West  Course 1 ... Do you    know if that development ever took off and got finished?

You are lucky. I've golfed at courses you made. ac_drinks  And yes it's open.

Did Rotunda do all 4 courses (c/w housing) .. and a service area (stores etc) in the middle .. as planned initially

As I recall it was a mile in diameter with a golf course and housing in each of  4 separate 1/4 circles

A gator treed my mate on that project ... he was working to get a pump station running with his back to the water and the pond gator was crawling toward him ... pump stations were out doors and power stuff on a post. He had no marshmallows to feed the guy and jumped onto a 4 ft post

Crew of Crackers  finally came with the pickup to pick him up and laughed like crazy even though he was company owner .. . even took pictures before "saving" him, lol

Seven million people are without power and some could be without power for weeks..

Kiebers, is life returning to normal?

I'm thinking about them too.

kiebers

Texas is doing as well as can be expected. We are strong and have experience with this kind of thing. It's a long road and will take time. JJ Watts flood relief fund is reaching 32 million with donations from all over the world.
I've learned that if someone asks you a really stupid question and you reply by telling them what time it is, they'll leave you alone

Aw. Joe knows someone who owns a cpl of restaurants.

We need a thread on this
