In an effort to address the appalling electricity supply reliability as a result of idiotic "green" energy generation, we now have the world's biggest battery.

30,000 homes for an hour.

Only...we have about 1 million homes.

This, apparently, is what "world leadership" in renewable energy looks like.

Will someone explain to me how the forum benefits from having this symian running amok with crap like this?

The government won't tell us the cost.

But whatever it means, what those batteries represent is the need to pay even MORE money for "sustainability", because the core technology is insubstantial in providing base load power. So, to cope with the predictable failure of "green energy", we spend millions of dollars on a battery that will sit idle for 95% of the time, and cater for a very small fraction of the power required to maintain energy to SA homes.

That sounds like the wasteful stupidity the government of my province, Ontario would pursue.

Bricktop

All these governments are the same. Ideology at any price...as long as we bear the cost.

That would be our provincial government.

Zetsu

That's such a waste of batteries, think of all the electric cars they can already make with those batteries.

That's a waste of taxpayer's money. Think of the savings to consumers if they had let market forces instead of political agendas dictate power generation.

I concur too, if the government have money to burn on these kind of projects it only proves their tax rate is already too high.

We're both Ontarians, so we know all about  expensive green energy schemes.

The MAIN point is that batteries do not generate power. They have to use them because their so-called sustainable power source is inadequate!!!

Angry White Male

It's the same thing here...  The fucking Indians and left Whinger Whites do nothing but fucking cry about hydro-electric dams.

We are LUCKY to have the ability to even produce power using hydro-electric generation, but the fucking typical opposition is always there, because we gave them an inch to begin with...

You know what the solution is?  Turn their fucking power off for three days, and cut their welfare cheque off for one month...  I'll bet their tunes change after that.

Odinson

Australians dont even need electricity..

Its not like their homes are gonna freeze without power.

They can survive without power for an hour.
