Empty shelves are becoming commonplace here in a variety of stores.

Nothing critical. There's no shortage of essential goods and groceries, but some brands are disappearing.

The old lady does the shopping, not me, so I aint seeing it. I was in a Canadian Tire in Regina last week and I didn't notice empty shelves. But, I just went in to buy bungee straps and left. I didn't walk around the entire store.

Industrial parts are becoming harder to source.

Sunset in Bayou Vista Tx this evening.

It looks like a painting.

I may have this one made into an oil painting. So much color in the sky and reflections.

I didn't take pictures of the Halloween strobe lights and other associated decorations this year... my dear wife has always had a Halloween fetish despite being Aussie... in previous years, she'd spend upwards of 250-350 dollars on lollies and chocolates and pre-pack multiple items in a brown paper sandwich bag to hand out per kid... one bag, one kid... typically consisting of 9-12 items.

This year, a lot of groups walked past us... despite clearly looking at us (the parents) and the kids clearly saying "this house"...

I can only surmise that they either know our unvaccinated status, or they have a Facebook page of addresses for approved vaccinated status. Our street blew up for Trick or Treaters like 15 years ago... my wife had the the best treats around at the time... the few and far between doing it would only do one item per kid. She laid out a bag that any kid would be happy with even if they just hit our house and no others.

We didn't do bags this year... just manufacturers wrapped lollies...

....and we've got 150 bucks of it left.

We get that parents are fearful with covid.... but by the number of parents who stopped all their children from walking down the short driveway.... there's something else going on.

My wife is upset and butthurt about it but she's trying to hide it from me still. When the first 3-4 groups did it, I told her it was a covid associated thing but she refused to believe me.

She's finally accepted it.

But not before she told me to leave all the lights on after 9 pm, and leave the big bowl of treats outside for random teenagers to help themselves to.

So I shut off all the lights, removed most of the decorations, and went dark... but if somebody knocks on our door anyway after that point, they're getting a massive treat.
Blahhhhhh...

Mom is taking the boys up and down the street tonight. I'm staying home to give out treats.

I'm not invited to the party. ac_sothere

You won't be carrying that handbag.

You need to get one of these, made in China from genuine vinyl and plastic. $8. Plus tax. Party approved.
