Brazil is a mega sized country with lots of spectacular scenery.

It sure is, would be awesome just spending a week traveling and camping in the Amazon river and rain forests, then dining with the locals or seeing a parade.  ac_cool  Or maybe Africa or Antarctica would be a good option too.

Safety is a big concern in Brazil. Balsonaro will tell you that too.

Wow, I'd love to do that hike with ya Ballsy.

It's truly amazing. I did it a couple times when I was a kid and it had been 25 years or so since I last went up there.

And this time, it felt more special.

Brazil has lots of nice places to go and with a little caution, it's not worse than most of the world.

Indeed. With a little previous research, there are literally thousands of interesting places to go with little to no risk.

The Amazon is a good option if you do some heavy planning before. I'd recommend a resort. Needless to say, the place can be very dangerous. 20 years ago, you could probably go backpacking there and malaria or yellow fever would be the biggest dangers. Today, most small communities there are dangerous to foreigners and big cities like Manaus are more trouble than they're worth.

Yeah, there's always that to keep in mind around here...

I'd suggest:

Caldas Novas or Rio Quente (awesome thermal springs resort cities, true gems in the country)

Lençois Maranhenses (dune areas up north, where the sands meet the forest and the rivers, beautiful paradide)

Fernando de Noronha (natural reserve islands)

Pantanal Matogrossense (if you like fishing and seeing wildlife)

If you want safe places with a more European touch, just go to the South. Many beautiful beaches there too.

There also many rocky sierras and formations, like Serra do Caparaó, Serra dos Veadeiros, Chapada da Diamantina, and so on.

If you like amazing waterfalls and granite canyons and plateaus, that's definitely something to see.

As a matter of fact, even Rio de Janeiro is worth a visit again, after the cleanup the army did there.

Of course, choose a nice hotel (stay away from the favela AirBNB's LOL) pick a nice guide to take you to the best visitation places. And I'd definitely suggest Cabo Frio or Búzios, instead of the main city and the main beaches, like Copacabana.
There\'s always a bigger fish.

I'll look up those places BALLSONARO.

I have considered Brazil as a holiday destination. Wazzzup has been there and he seemed to like it.

Fremantle is stunning apart from their growing homeless problem with all the drug affected people.
