The domino theory arose long before JFK was even elected to his public office.  Kennedy at least got its authors out of their respective offices before the misadventure got completely out of hand.  



But the answer to your gold-standard question is simply that when it comes to purposeless mendacity Trump has raised the bar higher than any five or ten previous presidents put together.  And while most of them at least wore a veneer of civility and rectitude, he does not.  If it were not for the corporate takeover of the US legislature, he would never have seen a day in office.  The guy is an international joke and a dangerous fool.

Trump brought them home. Good for him. What his predecessor did, or failed to do, is not relevant. He should be judged on his achievements, or lack thereof, by the American people at the next election. So, if the people of America elected him based on what he promised during an election, and he is in fact doing that, isn't that all that is required of an elected leader?
