The Prime Minister faces a vote of confidence in her leadership by fellow Tory MPs on Wednesday evening after 48 letters of no confidence were sent to the 1922 Committee. Mrs May is believed to attempt to win the confidence vote by promising her party to step down before the next general election.



BBC's Laura Kuenssberg tweeted: "Sounding like Prime Minister will tell MPs she won't fight the next election at 5pm - let her get Brexit done, and then get out of the way - let's see what she actually says later on.
