About 1993, if I call correctly.

When they tested the new connection, I got 1Mb in around 10 seconds, and thought it was magical.

I was a soldier when my parents got high speed internet in 2001. That's about the same time most Israelis made the switch. The government invested in a big upgrade to the Internet infrastructure in 1999.

Australia was once ahead of the curve...now we're miles behind it because our LEFTIST government socialised the internet connection infrastructure so that everyone had access to "high speed"...which means, of course, that the higher volumes of traffic slow everything down to the preceding technology.

Holy fuck!  You guys are old!   I didnt really start using a computer until after 2000.

We had a Commodore 64 in the 80's, but my dad only bought it for us to play games and learn how to type.  I used it occasionally.

In elm school we had a computer room with Apple computers.  We learned how to type wpm (real fuckin boring) and how to use clip art.

In jr high (early 90's) we had a computer class, I dont even remember what kind of computers??  Iy was more art programs....another boring class.

By mid 90's my sister had her own computer and made love to it 24/7 in her room.  I had no interest in computers at all...I much rather enjoyed my photography and drawing along with going outside with my friends.  I still dont have much interest in computers.  I still havent even set up my computer since I moved and it's been 4 months...I'm actually going to set it up this week, but only so the kid can use it for school work and printer use aswell.

I still dont like electronics to this day.  I'm still I to art, reading and actual book and being outside....I have it all, a PC, lap top, tablets, a google home mini, and I use none of it...weird I guess.  I should perhaps set all this up and start using it, or atleast get my kid using it...the world is changing and she needs to learn how to adapt to this stuff.  I have my new camera and still learning how to use it....I guess I want to set up my PC cause I'm thinking of getting some kind of program to edit my pics for photography...anyone know of a good program? And nothing that costs thousands of dollars...

Bricktop

Affinity Photo. Does everything Photoshop does and more for around $70 FULL PRICE.

Its a complex beast though, so you may look at something like Luminar, which is much more beginner friendly and easier to use.

We got our first computer when we came to Canada. My parents used it for bookkeeping purposes.

Not invented there, but a lot of motherboards and chips are manufactured there.

I still download some movies and TV-series..

I got a letter from a legal office demanding me to pay a sum to them or they will sue me for downloading pirated movies.
