Former President Barack 0bama said this week that despite the "challenging times" we face, he remains hopeful that https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2019-03-07/obama-wants-train-million-baracks-and-michelles-create-progressive-utopia">the future will be OK thanks to an army of young activists that will create a progressive utopia, reports the Washington Examiner.

"If we could form a network of those young leaders, not just in the United States, but around the world, then we got something," said Obama, adding: "if we can train a million Baracks and Michelles who are running around thinking they can change the world," they will fulfill the 'hope and change' agenda, said Obama - echoing a similar statement he made in Japan last year.

Speaking at a packed arena at Bell MTS Place in Winnipeg, Canada on Monday, Obama explained how he plans to create a "university for social change" that will act as a jumpoff for young people in the US and around the world who don't believe in the "old institutions."

"If we train them — if we give them skills, support, financing, media training, spotlights, then they're the ones that are going to carry forward the solutions that we so desperately need," he said.

[0bama's training center sure sounds a lot like the embattled Obama Presidential Center - a sprawling complex slated for construction in a park beside Lake Michigan, which is currently being sued for an illegal transfer of park land to The Obama Foundation.]

I thought there already were millions of young Baracks and Michelles.

Now, there's a slice of Marxism you can take to the bank.

Educate them whilst young, and they are yours forever.

That's usually what happens.

That's what most leftist want-- to churn out brainwashed bot-like followers that don't think for themselves.

I note he uses the term "activist". That is pure socialist terminology.

The right rarely engages in "activism", if at all.

Pfffttt. As though they are a flawless blueprint to emulate. How hilarious. Absurd. Hope and change have come around before they came into the picture.

Two reasons for that.

1. We work and have responsibilities.

2. We do not have billionaire sugar daddies like Soros, Steyer, the Rockefellers, Bezos and the Tides Foundation paying people to promote their globalist causes.

There's a third. Revolution and rebellion is core to Marxism philosophy. Thus, it's embedded into the DNA of all those who believe in such nonsense. It's positively encouraged as a responsibility of young revolutionaries to protest, rebel and destroy the status quo. By any and all means possible. "Activism" is just the first step.

Revolution is the cause. They never reach a place where they say we achieved our goals. In Stalin's USSR there were always bogeymen to persecute.

...and yet, I seriously wonder how 'radical' these 'revolutionaries' in the United States are.

'Excessively Demanding' the following:

1. A working livable wage above the $3 minimum wage that is paid to many workers in the United States. I believe its around $20 in Australia- even for busboys/bus girls.

2. Universal healthcare

3. Safe streets and college and school campuses & controlling the spread of dangerous unauthorized firearms

4. Maternity Leave for new moms in the workforce

Cripes these are basic staples that citizens in many other democracies including Australia take for granted and already get.

The average American working class schmo reminds me of Oliver Twist asking or more grool;

In a way I see a bit of him in you.

Didn't you say you started off growing up poor?

That what its like for the poor in America, BT.

Joe, what you posted is not a response to Bricktop or even related to this thread..

But, while we are on the subject of minimum wage, servers in Alberta make less money since the provincial government here raised minimum wage to fifteen dollars per hour..

The government got a raise in the form of taxes, but minimum wage earners took a cut..

I've told you this before, but you ignore what we write, and that is so rude.

Since Joe already derailed this thread, I'll say it. Raising a minimum wage for service jobs that are disappearing is not only stupid, it's incredibly selfish of governments. Servers earn less and pay more in taxes.
