I concur too, from building falling over like dominos, fake eggs, gutter oil, fake bus trains prototypes investment scams, fake banks, drivers flying out of a bridge or buildings to the latest fully effective-less fire extinguishers, etc, it's an national embarrassment and sweeping it under the rug like nothing had happen isn't going to improve anything, hence why China can never go to war with the US else it'll just be a clown show.

Oh sure, the internet illiterate can fool themselves their government is keeping little Jimmy and little Sally safe, but as a growing number have learned, the best (read "hamfisted") attempts to sanitize internet content can be bypassed for as little as a dollar a month.

When I was a still in school, I always thought Hongkonger's constant anti-mainland bashing was a bit excessive and over the top, but now that every time I think about mainland China, I can kind of understand why HKers are annoyed.

We aint no better than China, with young folks in Canada and the US getting their news from Tik Tok.

I wasn't born in SZ, but that's where we lived before we immigrated to Canada. It has an internal border, so it was always for educated professionals, but now it's become a city for elites that even the professional class has been priced out of.

Sounds like they're going through the exact same problem as Hong Kong  ac_unsure , taxes might attractively low, due to to this Hongkong's government relies on making their money through controlling all the property prices by selling land slowly to developers.  But then HK's government couldn't be anymore worthless and useless.

Yup, Hong Kong's government was once one of the wealthiest in the world, only to be bled dry by using nearly all of it to invest and hiring a lot of mainland contractors and construction business.  ac_unsure
