He seems to like to too, at least overall it's pretty convenient for him to find a closeby location for a part-time job and doing door to door marketing for our business.  And my mom only cares about the supermarket down the street, lol.

Hey brother, I want to derail the topic briefly. Are you or your family travelling to HK or having relatives visit from HK? Are you concerned about the coronavirus? Fash is heading to Taiwan in a couple of days.

My 2nd brother will be going back there before the end of January, while my dad will be travelling back during mid-March.  About the new virus it's hard not to be concerned, but HK and the world have tackled SARS, and I believe the US is quite close to finding the cure.  Though my biggest concern is there's a huge respiratory mask shortage in HK atm.  I guess little can be done for the moment except aways wear your mask when going out, stay away from crowded places and avoid outdoor supermarkets or damp dirty places at all cost.

A second case of the coronavirus has been confirmed in Toronto. This will seem Gestapo-ish, but China should ban anybody who has been to the city of Wuhan in the last six months from travelling. I ave heard that China has domestic travel controls.

I heard about it too, so far HK's has suspended ppl from the mainland from entering into the city or at least they will need to pay to visit their public hospitals;  I believe there's at least 10 presumptive cases in Hong Kong atm.

Vancouver and Calgary are running low on masks if you can believe it.

It doesn't seem surprising, think Toronto will soon be on short supply too, my brother just restocked 1500 masks from 3 suppliers.

Do you sell masks?

Naw, we tend to only sell Japanese stationery, statue anime figures, gifts, etc.  Business would have been possible if Canada Post didn't charge a flat rate of $20 for the smallest parcel.  ac_unsure

Canada Post is expensive.

Sadly yea, I can understand most of the high pricing is caused by Canada's low population density, but assume their delivery methods could be more efficient.

Piss poor service too.

Couldn't be any more true, a lot of the staff there seem to give you the impression they hate working there, though it's still toleratable.  My biggest concern is they charge $20 or more for shipping a parcel as small as a pack of erasers outside of southern Ontario/Quebec, while China's couriers can deliver their goods from Asia to Canada all for less than a dollar, a lot of things just doesn't make sense.

Oh, some of Canada Post's prices are absurd.

Yup, just looking at the price chart gives me a feeling I'm not only paying for their service, but also the employees just so they can own a nice home, car, quality food and other luxury.

Sell Canada Post and CBC.

I'd support privatization for them both, even if the wage of China is close to 1/3 of Canada's, their courier's cost no more than 1/9 of Canada Post's rates.
