Ontario Premier Doug Ford did what Prime Minister Justin Trudeau couldn't or wouldn't do, he called the president of Pfizer Canada on Tuesday to ask why Ontario in particular — and Canada — face a massive shortage of vaccine shipments.

cc

Apparently he has already called then and opened up dialogue

The premiers are the only ones on our side

Y'all are aware that there will be a lag that most affects early February - We are promised all missing does + some more  .. & will be in Canadian arms   March, so anyone after that will not be delayed by this ... People of top priority will see a lag as we go 3/4 throttle for 2 weeks (allowing Moderna will continue as per plan & mid March we will be exactly where we planned to be)

I'm not saying it's good, but it's not as bad as some figure it is .. I'm just thankful we even have vaccines & all holdoffs will be made up shortly

My parents, my wife's parents and our siblings in Israel have been vaccinated. The first dose I mean.

Expect further delays.

Canada added another 5,955 cases of COVID-19 Thursday as delays in shipments of the coronavirus vaccine to the country appear to be worse than previously thought.

Maj.-Gen. Dany Fortin, who oversees vaccine logistics for the Public Health Agency of Canada, broke the news Thursday that deliveries of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine to Canada in the first week of February would be 79,000 doses — only one-fifth of what was promised.

Deliveries from Moderna, the other company whose vaccine is approved for use in Canada, will not be affected.

Manitoba isn't alone IHJ.

This gives one pause to think.

Saskatoon care home where 243 residents received 1st vaccine dose reports 7 COVID cases

A Saskatoon care home where the vast majority of residents have received their first vaccine dose is now reporting seven cases of COVID-19.

Sherbrooke Community Centre announced two residents were infected on Tuesday, followed by five more on Thursday. All live in the Kinsmen Village area of the facility, located in the city's College Park area.

News of the outbreak comes only a week after the first of 243 residents were vaccinated against the coronavirus that causes COVID-19. Residents received the first of two Pfizer-BioNTech doses on Jan. 13 and Jan. 15.

Clinical trials have shown the level of protection from just one dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech is lower, and it also takes time for bodies to react — meaning people aren't protected immediately after getting a shot.

I read that even with just one jab, there is something like eighty per cent immunity.

About 97,785 doses of COVID-19 vaccine had been administered to Albertans and more are likely going to be able to get their second dose thanks to another shipment..

Alberta Health confirmed the province received a shipment of Pfizer vaccine this week. That shipment included 21,450 doses.

Not after just a week though. Moderna said 85 + after 2 weeks, didn't hear that on Pfizer

Here's some data that if It didn't come from Israel, I'd likely ignore

https]

MONTREAL -- Quebec could change its vaccine strategy based on new data out of Israel about the efficacy of the first dose, on its own, of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine, says a top adviser in the province.

Israel just provided the world with its first large-scale, real-world hint of how effective the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine is before the booster, and it doesn't seem reassuring for places that have delayed the second shot, including Quebec and the United Kingdom.

"We not only monitor the data that comes from Quebec but also what is observed around the world," Dr. Gaston De Serres, a chief adviser on Quebec's vaccine strategy, told CTV News.

So it takes a couple of weeks after the first shot to get a degree of immunity......at least with Moderna.

We're lagging behind the United States in administering vaccines. It's all due to Trudeau's incompetence.

Well, he made a deal early and counted on China and was willing to inject us with "made in china" stuff .. then china told him to get lost (prolly a good thing) .. so in July he had missed the boat by several months .. so here we are at the tail of the quew
