The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has announced that fully vaccinated Americans may return to normal life without masks whether they are indoors or outdoors in the vast majority of settings.

I look forward to that.

This is concerning.

Indian Covid variant calls in question 17 May reopening in UK, say experts

Highly transmissible B.1.617.2 is now second most common variant and is spreading in north-west England

The dramatic rise in UK cases of a variant first discovered in India could undermine the country's roadmap for reopening, scientists are cautioning.

The variant, called B.1.617.2, is one of three closely related variants that were initially detected in India. Public Health England designated it a "variant of concern" on Friday, acknowledging it appears to be at least as transmissible as the dominant so-called Kent variant in the UK. It is unclear if and to what extent B.1.617.2 can reduce vaccine effectiveness.

They can't even accurately test for old variants.

The PCR test is worthless. No independent labs have been given studies of any virus or variants. We're in a bullshit phase.

Might explains small increase in cases this week in UK after 10 straight weeks of decrease. It is easily transmissible

They are logging  cases among vaccinated people and AZ is not as efficient in prevention as the rna types to begin with  .. although it is extremely good (some say even better) at reducing symptoms. Will be interesting to see if more cases among those vaccinated .. or not

That will soon tell the tale as to whether AZ is as good protecting against B.1.617.2....  or not

Yes, and ON is down -4,555 cases for this weeks Vs. previous week .. 22,865 > 18,310

That makes reductions for past 4 weeks

a good trend

It's trending in the right direction. Can we keep it up for another two months until we get a large majority of Ontarians with at least one  vaccine dose.
