And there are hardly ANY Asian restaurants there.  You people may want to pretend that you live here, but you actually don't...

There was a South Indian restaurant my family went to in Nelson that we liked..



For such a small city, Nelson is very diverse and has a good selection of Chinese/SE Asian/Japanese-Korean/East Indian restaurants.

There are 115 Chinese and 85 South Asians in Nelson. The Real Woman lives in Trail so she is not included in the Nelson tally of Italians.

There use to be an asian buffet across from the rec center...probably there anymore...but it was really good.

There is a Japanese restaurant owned by Koreans that has very good ramen..



Mel is so lucky to live near such a multicultural little city with so many international dining options.

There are also 85 Japs in Nelson. There are only 10 Koreans in Nelson, maybe they are one family? No mentions on Italians so the Real Woman may not have relatives in Nelson.



I wonder why the term "Jap", short for Japanese is mildly offensive whereas "Brit" short for British is not?

Those outdated numbers don't take into consideration Canada has reciprocal youth working agreements with Japan and Korea..



Safeway, Save-On-Foods in Nelson sell Asian Foods..



This in addition to Wing's..



Mel isn't buying all those Asian ingredients..



It's a multicultural little city becoming more so as Filipino and East Indian immigrants and TFW's move in.

After the war and internment, Japanese people took offence to the word  "Jap" which was used exclusively against the enemy during the war ... akin to using Kraut and worse against the lowlife nazis



Before the war,  "Jap" was commonly used as a short form without offense



As they find it offense I don't use it solely for that reason .. I leave that to the lowlife mels of our wold to deliberately slur people
