@realAzhyaAryola

Does anyone know much about pacemakers? Do you have information on the failure and success of it?

There's an elderly widower in our church who has had a pacemaker for years now..

He seems to live a normal life.

My neighbor has a pacemaker and she lives a normal life...

Gardening, shoveling dirt, plowing snow etc... Normal life.

There is no reason a person cannot live a long active life with a pacemaker.

Yes, I believe that is true.

There are factors to consider like age and overall health.

They do what they are supposed to do.

They tend to be very reliable .. need tested and power supply dealt with every few years

One issue very late in life, they can keep jogging a body that overall  doesn't want to / isn't able to properly live longer  .. I have seen that happen with 2 relatives

Thanks, cc. So what you mean is that the pacemaker can keep the body alive even when the rest of the body is no longer able to function?

Yes. I saw it in 2 relatives. The body wanted to let go and tried to stop the heart which just kept on getting jogged

Don't get me wrong. Pacemakers, and there are types for at least 2 conditions, are a great invention for  an otherwise  fairly strong body but heart that would fail without help
