KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — The Taliban have promised plots of land to relatives of suicide bombers who attacked U.S. and Afghan soldiers, in a provocative gesture that seems to run counter to their efforts to court international support.

The Taliban's acting interior minister, Sirajuddin Haqqani, offered the reward to dozens of family members of bombers gathered at a Kabul hotel, Interior Ministry spokesman Saeed Khosty tweeted on Tuesday.

Addressing the gathering Monday evening, Haqqani praised the sacrifices of "martyrs and fedayeen," referring to fighters killed in suicide attacks, Khosty tweeted. Haqqani called them "heroes of Islam and the country," according to the spokesman. At the end of the meeting, he distributed 10,000 afghanis ($112) per family and promised each a plot of land.

[Haqqani, obviously a leader of the deadly Haqqani Network (a terror org) is one bad dude .. and he was given great  power in a deal with Talis]

No aid. No international support. No funds.

If China wants to throw money at this black hole of humanity, let them.

If terrorist groups base themselves in Afghanistan, a few carefully directed air strikes will sort that out.

Beijing has economic interests in the country, with a particular eye on its vast mineral wealth, but China's main interest is that conflict doesn't spill beyond Afghanistan's borders.

If China thinks that the Afghanis will be welcoming them with open arms, they will need to think again.

They will take everything they can get from China, until the Chinese realise that they, like the UK, Soviet Union, US and UN before them, are being milked. Afghanis are highly adept at manipulation, deception and fraud.

China won't repeat the mistakes that other countries have made.

No doubt using supplies the US left behind.

ISIS-K in Afghanistan could be capable of launching terror attack against US in just 6 months, defense official says

ISIS-K terrorists in Afghanistan could have the capability to conduct external attacks on other countries — including the United States — in as little as six to 12 months, a Pentagon official told members of Congress this week.

What are the details?

While testifying in front of the Senate Armed Services Committee on Tuesday, Under Secretary of Defense for Policy Colin Kahl warned that the terrorist group has every intention of conducting such attacks but currently lacks the capability. The same is reportedly true of al Qaeda.

But Kahl said that could be changing in relatively short order, according to the Military Times.

The news only further increased criticism against the Biden administration over its bungled withdrawal process from the country, which resulted in tens of thousands of U.S. citizens and Afghan nationals scrambling to exit the country as the Taliban swept through. Many were left stranded.

Good work Jim Crow Joe.

President Biden left 14,000 US residents behind in Afghanistan after promising to get every American out:

The Biden administration has left behind as many as 14,000 U.S. legal permanent residents in Afghanistan after President Joe Biden repeatedly promised that he would not leave any Americans behind after the U.S. withdrew troops from the country.

Following the Pentagon's disclosure last week that 439 American citizens are still in Afghanistan, a new report from Foreign Policy indicates thousands more U.S. green card holders are still stranded in the Taliban-controlled country.

The finding, disclosed by a congressional aide familiar with the matter, has been transmitted by the State Department to aides on Capitol Hill in private, but officials demurred on revealing the figure when questioned by Republican lawmakers on Wednesday, insisting the agency doesn't track the figure.

"Isn't the operating assumption about 14,000?" Republican Rep. Chris Smith asked Brian McKeon, deputy secretary of state for management and resources, at a hearing on Wednesday, referring to the figure briefed in private.

"We don't track [legal permanent residents]," McKeon responded. "It's a good question why we don't," he added, suggesting the lack of clarity might be because the State Department does not require Americans and legal permanent residents traveling abroad to report their whereabouts.

According to McKeon's testimony Wednesday, there are still 289 U.S. citizens in Afghanistan as of Tuesday and another 81 Americans who are ready to evacuate the country. McKeon said the Biden administration got 140 Americans out last week.

Turns out that the Afghan army was about 6th of the size that was on the paper.

So was the police force.

Same thing is happening with the foreign aid.

We are giving our taxmoney to the local authorities without any kind of oversight.

Are we really this stupid or is there some kind conspiracy going on?

It's almost as if the Clinton Foundation is handling the aid money.

More than two months after the botched Afghanistan withdrawal, the Biden administration is reaching out to Defense Department personnel seeking information on immediate family members who were left stranded in Afghanistan.
