Mukhtiar Panghali murdered his pregnant wife Manjit Panghali in 2006. Both were Surrey school teachers

https://ow0hs2zhmkp2497op3xhvxsa-wpengine.netdna-ssl.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/26992645_web1_211104-SUL-Panghali-Mugs_1-1024x683.jpg">

During the trial, Crown prosecutor Dennis Murray laid out the Crown's theory that the teacher killed his wife after she'd returned home from a prenatal yoga class,

staged the discovery of her car in Whalley,

burned her body on a remote beach along DeltaPort causeway in South Delta,

and then delayed for as long as he could to lodge a missing persons complaint with the Surrey RCMP.

He strangled his wife of nine years Manjit Panghali, 31, who was a teacher at North Ridge Elementary, on Oct. 18, 2006. She was four months pregnant at the time, and the couple's daughter was three years old.

Had he not cheaped out by using his wife's cellphone after killing her, or snuck out in the dead of night to a local store and then lied about it later, Panghali might have gotten away with murder.

"At your hearing, you indicated that since your last hearing, you have thought more about accountability and responsibility, and how even describing your offence as a mistake is wrong," the decision document reads. "You indicated that this sentence has been a journey in you correcting your beliefs and thoughts, and you want to work on this for the rest of your life. You take full responsibility for your actions."

.. .sigh

The terms of his unescorted absences are that his initial leave be for 24 hours, followed by one 48 hour "UTA" with subsequent ones to be for 72 hours.

[This is one of the most clear cut egregious, deliberate contrived murders c/w follow-up coverup I have heard of .. not to mention he did it to his pregnant trusting wife]

It's not like he did something really evil like oppose CRT. Ya know, being a teacher and all.

Good point. Maybe it was not so serious after all. I wonder if he didn't agree to CRT  in chambers

I'm taking bets  he gets his teaching certificate back in relatively short order?

He plays his cards right, says the right woke things, the Peel school board will offer him a principal's job.

Ya, but even more common among Muslims than Sikhs and Hindus.

Surrey, BC is little Mumbai.

AKA Slury by some .. a name it does not deserver in the main

Actually it's a very large land area with many different type of areas (many parts of it are very nice) ending at the south at the ocean and surrounding White Rock on 3 sides (not on our  ocean side of course) where it is known as South Surrey which is physically separate from but officially part of Surrey. South Surrey is separated physically from the upper area by miles of lowlands where little is built on .. but still officially Surrey

We White Rockers, insufferable snobs that we are, use nice sounding street names unlike Surrey which is numbered streets and Aves greatly simplifying life  .. names of streets changing at the official border .. confusing many

I don't know the West coast. For me, Vancouver has been a transit stop to and from Korea. And I haven't been to Korea in a long time.

I was in the GVR in 2018..

It's nice to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there.......Calgary is more family friendly.
