Why did Nato ever give Turkey a vote?

Turkey is a mere applicant and rapidly become a less likely choice

If they have a vote, the whole thing becomes a cornball travestry

Turkey is a full member of NATO isn't it?

Yes, you are correct. I confused it with the EU which while a gimme to suicidal Europe 10 years ago  is now unlikely to happen

Turkey is saying they are "afraid of terrorists in Sweden & Finland" ... OH the Irony / Hypocrisy!!

Of course they are seeking to be bribed - same will happen for any other future prospect

Turkey has served some purpose such as US bases but have never been and never will be our friend

It has turned lucrative to Turkey - Every new country means the others have to bribe Turkey

Turkey was at one time considered for EU membership. Not anymore.

Exactly. It was scary close for a while ... highway for a billion "legal" invaders to "own" Europe

Turkey did itself in by going all Fundy and the EU finally clued in

Better they find that out before they get approved than after.

True, but only Turkey going all Fundy just in time saved the day. Stupid EU heads all wanted it to happen before that

It was the firing of 1000s of not-Fundy Judges, Magistrates  ... police chiefs etc that finally clued the EU goofs in

Even before President Erogan, didn't the EU have misgivings about Turkey becoming a member?

What are you babbling about and in what language are you babbling it. On second thought, who cares. I am sure it's nothing constructive.

True. Some people who saw the great danger of it being a legal highway for islam to overwhelm Europe did (as for members, borders no longer prevent people from crossing)

However, at the same time those "who could make it happen" were on board ... otherwise, it could never have become the real prospect that it was at one moment in time

At the time I found that very scary & the start of the end of Europe as we knew it

Didn't Turkey still have capital punishment on the books even if they didn't carry it out?
