Holy shit.... just noticed.

There's a fox hiding his out of a burrow right next to it.

Foxes must find heads the yummiest part.

Edit: looked at another pictures angle. It was a leaf, not a kit.

This is the first time I've ever seen a odd headless animal in the wild, makes me want to find out who the mystery killer is.  ac_umm

I'm thinking a wedge tailed eagle of which there are scores in the area and who follow machinery looking for a fleeing meal.

Or the thing popped it's head up just enough from its burrow and the mulcher took it off. Leaning towards an eagle though. Burrowing mammals go deep for noise, not watch.
Blahhhhhh...

Foxes and cats chew heads off but maybe the animal was disturbed by Freud and ran off before it could finish the meal. I am thinking that.

Don't mean to whine, but wildlife here in Canada seem so bland compared to Oz, all we get all I see is sparrows, while you guys have the exotic finches, doves and parrots.  ac_cool

Dinky's bulldozer must have scared it off, foxes seems to be cunning, while cats are wasteful, I wouldn't be surprise if it was a cat, darn thing just kill to play.  ac_unsure

We have the largest wild dogs in the world-timberwolves. They bring down 1200 lb moose and 2000 lb bison. Can dingos bring down a wallaby???

Yea, though I have to admit I'm a tad bit retardedly obsessed with pigeons lately, already have 12+ Iranian pigeons in my room, when I drove my mom to the supermarket I always must wait near by the dumpsters to see some pigeons, now I want to go to England, heard they banned killing pigeons there since WWII.
