I could imagine it is a nightmare. Is it the pain or the lack of mobility or both?

It's both.

One of the principles of joint replacement surgery is that you have to get up and about within a day. Considering what has been done to the leg bones and the soft tissue above and below the knee, that is a very very difficult thing to do. Even more so when you have both done simultaneously. The standard procedure for people with both knees worn out is to do one at a time, but that has its own problems.

It's around 6 weeks on strong pain killers, and you must religiously undertake your rehab exercise plan to ensure the knee doesn't atrophy and lock up again.

So look after those knees, kids. Replacement is something you would wish to avoid at all costs.

I am surprised you can stand without crutches or a walker let alone exercise your knees/legs.

Bricktop

The exercises are done seated or prone.

But I am walking now with a stick. You have to get them working asap after the surgery or run the risk of having them seize up and needing replacement.

And no doubt there is pain when you bend your knees.

Happy Birthday to you guys and gals anyone doing anything interesting for their B-day?

Weebles tradition is to head to The Keg with a bunch of friends for a nice medium rare teriyaki steak and some Keg size  Caesars

Speaking of fresh air, do you ever take a drive out of the city?

How long is your commute each way to your shop Zetsu?

It takes about 20 minutes, which is so much better than my brother's 2 hour drive from his home in Hong Kong to the factory in Shenzhen everyday.

You bet.

The unceasing pain and discomfort is the worst part.

It's the soft tissue around the joint that is the most painful.

That would be hard to deal with. Does it prevent you from sleeping or do the drugs put you to sleep?
