Having been to many many hockey games in my teen years, if there wasn't at least one fight either on or off the ice, something was wrong.  I've seen games where the goalie was booted for fighting.  I've seen games called completely.  I've seen parent brawls.  This is nothing new nor is it limited to native teams.
