I can name at least a half dozen GOP front runners for POTUS that are miles behind Trump.

1. Rubio

2. Kasich

3. Romney

4. Jebulon Bush

5. Mike Pence

6. Crisp Crispy

7. Ted Cruz

That Mike Pence is a Great Guy...Lokmeer!

If I was a Republican, I'd vote for him.

You should too, Bud!

If you were a Republican, you wouldnt be such a cuck, so how do you know?

This has to be Sum Cunt.

And I agree with all of this. Perfect!  I'd definately vote DeSantis in 2024 but I'd rather have Trump and then 8 years of DeSantis. We can and should eek another term out of Trump.

Trump is the weakest candidate and would lose again.

And yet polling aggregates show him leading the presidential nomination at more than double the approval rating of Ron DeSantis. Who (unless I am very much mistaken) has not even indicated he intends to run yet. Even if he does, that likely increases Trump's lead even further, given his previous debate performances. I don't know if you noticed, but he tends to do exceptionally well at insulting his challengers.

I still don't believe he lost last time either; if he had genuinely lost the vote, the democrats would have had no problem whatsoever in allowing the most minutest scrutiny of the polling data if only for the purposes of demoralizing those pesky MAGA deplorables. Instead they moved heaven and earth to hide it all away, if not outright destroy it... not even the UN by its own playbook would consider 2020 to be a free and fair election and they have questioned third world tinhorn regimes for far less.

That said, he may very well "lose" 2024, but it certainly won't be because of weakness or that his in-party support was lacking, or because he called a few people naughty names on social media or even because DeSantis got in the ring with him. I even doubt lawfare is going to take him out, since even CNN and MSN are questioning that tactic now.

No, the only thing that's likely to prevent him from going full Grover Cleveland on their bitch asses is election interference that is even more blatantly overt than what was openly admitted to after the fact by WaPo. The Deep State cannot countenance any further interruptions to their plans and the very fact they are attempting to astro-turf DeSantis into the nomination tells me that hitching the wagon to anyone other than Trump is a mistake that can only cost us all dearly.

The swing voters are swinging towards the GOP. Best not to let them down, especially if 2016 is any guide.

Oerdin

That is only a recent shift largely due to DeSantis fumbling about Ukraine and the rally around the flag effect Trump got after the political kangaroo charges Democrats wrongly targeted him with.  We will see if they are sustainable or if they are just a temporary bounce.  In the general it still shows Trump loses but DeSantis wins against Biden.

Lokmar

Simple FACT is, Trump didnt lose against biden. The election was rigged AF.

RCP aggregate polling has shown https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2024/president/us/2024_republican_presidential_nomination-7548.html">in party support for Donald Trump consistently ahead of DeSantis and by a comfortable margin for as long as I can remember, so I don't know where you're pulling your figures from. I would hope it isn't the MSM, they have figuratively and literally been wrong on everything for a long time now, though it hasn't stopped them from attempting to manufacture consent where they can.

And a growing number of "normies" are waking up to that fact. The weaponization of the legacy media and judicial systems, the exorbitant funding of overseas military actions and special interest minorities while bugger all attention is paid to the rising cost of living or the underlying societal structure,.. they're looking at the consistent hit pieces which havle plagued this "worse than Hitler" character and recognising a few truths in this Punch and Judy show... that their institutions have been lying to them non-stop.

For all the attempts to astroturf him into the primaries, DeSantis has not declared he is running yet and he might not decide to run at all. But if he does, he will be running against a technical incumbent who enjoys more than 50% in party support with a core of MAGA faithful who will not look kindly on the competition. You might expect them to walk from the GOP as Bernie supporters did when Madam Klithorn railroaded him out of the nomination in 2016. If the GOP were to pull a similar stunt at Trump's expense, then the GOP are as good as declaring their loss in 2024... and if they don't, then Donald steamrollers the crap out of DeSantis royally in the primaries and potentially ends his political aspirations in the debates. Those "messy primaries" the uniparty is begging for... probably fall as flat as every other attempt they've made to sideline Trump in that it only ends up boosting his chances. Kind of like a Caskur hex but on steroids really.

I imagine DeSantis is aware of all this, that is why he hasn't declared a run so far. I cannot speak for him of course, but I know that in his boots I would be inclined to play a waiting game, given that Trump effectively only has one more shot at the cherry anyway and the presidency will be ripe for the taking in 2028... presumably with the endorsement of those who are now solidly in favour of Trump and the benefit of a demoralized Democrat base who have at last been deprived of their sole platform policy, namely "we're not Trump".

DeSantis might feel differently of course, but he is on a pretty good wicket where he is in Florida at this point and might be reluctant to throw that away on the uncertainty of a presidential run that (at this stage at least) could very well cost him all his hard earned gains and leave him with nothing. Time will tell.

Oerdin

Yes, I already said that.  Trump is polling better with primary voters while EeSantis polls better in the general election against Biden.  Trump is the weakest candidate in the general election.

Lokmar

Trump got at least 74 million votes last time. In 24, that number will go up.

And I've told you that you're wrong to trust that figure and why. Not to worry, I'm used to being proved right on such matters, I expect to be proved right here too. 2016 saw blue support tank in spite of the "blue no matter who" mantra after Hillary fucked over the Bernie Bros, it will be the same for the GOP if they make the mistake of astro-turfing DeSantis into the nomination at Trump's expense.

Remember this exchange if and when it happens, also understand that if and when it does, it will be far too late for anyone to salvage the situation at that point.

I will remember it and remind you when Trump wins for a 3rd time. People are accustomed to Trump being a big ol meanie by now. Whats in his favor though is this political persecution of him by democRATs. Its garnering him a shitload of sympathy AND support. My wife who hates his tweets told me after the indictment of Trump that it'll take a live boy or a dead hooker to sway her vote for Trump. She's fukin PISSED!

The politically driven indictment has had the effect of galvanizing Trump's support within the party. But, that will not help in a general election.

I'm sure you will. And I will probably roll my eyes at you and hand you a packet of Crayolas to munch on. Om-nom-nom-nom.

Maybe try stepping back from the keyboard and assessing what I've actually written for five minutes. See if you can spot where you just argued my point for me.

No need. I've assessed that Trumps getting the nom weather you or anyone else likes it or not. Any "independent" that supports biden is a democrat, BTW. Those "independents" wont even vote for mittens romneycare. How do I know? Well, we already saw it. Thats right, Trump would have been a better candidate in 2012 too.

And I said he was the more likely contender, so feel free to explain to me why you felt the need to jump down my throat about it. I've long recognised the technical incumbency he represents, have observed his near doubling of DeSantis in terms of in-party support and know well enough you not only need the nomination to stand a hope in Hades of running for the presidency, you need to actually be IN the running first.

Hence my comments to Oerdin, who in spite of everything seems to think it is DeSantis and not Trump who the GOP should put on the ticket. To which I have explained to him that which I have just enumerated (again) while you chimp out as if my stance were anything but.

Put down the crayons, go back and read what I've written. Feel free to get a competent adult to explain any Big Words that might have you confused, I've already stated Trump is the one who should have the nomination, whether the election gets stolen from the GOP a second time or not. Particularly if the GOP has the election stolen from them a second time... a definite possibility if enough of your type gets confused over arguments as basic as the ones I've trotted out.
