I have a 2018 Jeep Cherokee. This fucking thing just went out two years ago. Thank Jesus hubby left his car here or I'd be screwed.

I'm sorry about your car Erica..

I was fortunate with my old Nissan Altima not to have had any major issues in the nine years I owned it.

You bought a Jeep. See kid, that was your first mistake.

Why? Are they bad?

They are four bangers. I have heard about reliability issues with them.

578.00 to fix. Hubby said he'll pay for labor, so I need to be for the radiator I feel he should pay for it all. He done pissed me off yesterday.

Man, auto parts and repairs are expensive these days. My Jetta is older than your Cherokee, but I haven't had any major repairs on it so far. I know  they are coming. Unless I trade it in before that happens.

Fortunately, I have a good mechanic. Same guy for nearly ten years.

I know he won't rob me lol

The price is not out of line with what other shops would charge. Not in 2023.

My parents bought 4 American cars since we moved to Canada, 2 of them have serious QC issues, our first 2 GM cars, if it's not the digital dashboard goes black, the door occasionally swings open while making a turn or the brakes stops working all of a sudden, lol.

The brakes stop working all of a sudden? That would happen once and I would have it towed to the dealer where I bought the car and get it fixed.

Yea lol, it nearly got my brother into an accident, lol luckily he was on the highway instead of the city and he used the hand brakes to stop the car.  Now I just stick to Japanese cars to avoid the risk and headaches, lol.

I have owned a number of American made vehicles and I never had the brakes fail suddenly. If they wear down, you will hear them. But, suddenly. That means an immediate trip back to the dealership.

I only remember the dealer was able to fix it in the end since we kept on driving that Oldsmobile, this happened when I was 7 or 8 years old and can't remember the cause for the brakes to fail.  I have nothing against US cars, but just tired of the socialist government bail out policies that keeps destroying incentive for American companies to improve.  ac_unsure

That must have been a long time ago. I think the last Oldsmobile model ended production twenty years ago. I agree wholeheartedly about the socialist bailouts of automakers.

Did the radiator go out because of the tranny ban?   :laugh3:

Blazor

I got a Jeep Wrangler. I've put in 2 radiators myself. Cost was roughly $100-$200 for a radiator. Had to put one in at roughly 150,000 miles each time. My Jeep has 386,000 miles on it lol.
I've come here to chew bubble gum, and kick ass. And I'm all out of bubblegum.
