I bought $3000 USD worth of precious metals today

1 oz gold
1 oz Platinum
5 oz Silver

all bullion

Mind you, I don't know if this was such a good or smart idea.
Maybe it wasn't/isnt

Didn't buy too much as prices can fluctuate wildly on commodities.

I think as I made my purchase, Platinum fell something in the order of $7 US or $10 Canadian.

Actually metals have lately been falling and the USD oddly has been rising and gaining strength.
Not sure why since the USA's credit rating fell from AAA to AA+

anyways I'll see how it plays out.
I f worse comes to worse, I can alwasy 'return' or sell it even at a slight loss.
On the bright side, comparatively there aren't many high priced ticket items you can buy in real life that you can return or even re-sell for a profit. Potentially you can do that with (some) preciousmetals.

Same time If Gold Silver and platinum take a further dive and might buy some more later in the coming weeks during the month

Metals might go up, and yet they might also fall dramatically.

That's why I try not to buy too much at once.

Maybe I'll regret it, but at least the loss won't be too harsh, unlike some stackers who've bought in the last year expecting Apocalypse Now.

You can''t buy metals like that.. I've seen these 'Monster Boxes' containing 500 oz of silver.
I imagine with the recent drop in silver, people who bought maybe 4 or 5 boxes of those likely got burnt
Silver is a minor metal which never be purchased in too large a quantity
Unlike gold, it is not as stable and can crash quite hard.
Plus the seller might find it more difficult to always find a byer who is willing to pay the higher prices.

As cc once said, "Buy Low and sell high"
But buyer beware, don't buy too much at once!

Buy as a trickle, never a flood
