LOL! Yeah the design is lacking and has something to be desired/worked on to refine it.

I quite agree. It's not the prettiest looking item. Looks rather crude.

Nevertheless it ended up selling for $11,700 US. That's maybe $15,000 Canadian?

And I think there's an auction premium on top of that. Like 20%. Add on $

Not bad for something made out of a cheap slug of silver.

And this is just a reproduction or a restrike/copy which was produced after the Civil War and there was no more Confederate States of America.

The original is worth somethin like $1 million US and 1 copy resides in the Smithsonian.

There might be another one owned privately.

The original confederate 1 cent/penny is worth $200,000 US or more.
Probably a good investment as it will probably be worth $1 million one day.

In a SHTF situation, those coins will be hard to move. Junk silver would be a better investment.
