And when are people going to get it through their thick skulls that there is NO such thing as an "innocent civilian" during a war which requires an invasion by the opposing force.

THe defending team's ""civilians"" are only ""innocent"" and ""civilian"" as long as the title furthers their own interests/preservation. Have we not learned this hard lesson in Vietnam? Korea? Afghanistan? Iraq? Libya? Somalia? and the list goes on and on and on.



Case in point. If China invaded the US tomorrow with troops on the ground and in our neighborhoods as an occupying force and I were caught off guard without any of my weapons on me I'd dame sure portray myself as an "innocent civilian".  For just as long as it took me to get back to my house and gather up my artillery and believe me when I tell you from that point forward I'd be taking shots at the invaders any way I could for as long as I could.

This is a cold hard reality that very few people want to accept UNTIL it is someone THEY Love on the front lines in harms way. Then the whole paradigm shifts but only on behalf of said loved one. None of the other poor soldiers have a right to shoot a woman running up to their position holding a baby from 200 yards out. No matter how many of their fellow soldiers they witnessed meeting a grim end as the exact scenario played itself out a dozen times before.
