Walz is off to a bad start

I think Vance won the debate, tho not decisively in the sense that he was trying to deliver a knockout blow

Actually, his goal was to appear more likeable

The debate did not have near the acrimony that the Biden-Trump or Biden-Harris debates had

Actually I just thought they wee trying to get along with each other

My impression of Walz is that he did not want to, and tried very hard to avoid making personal attacks on Vance or offending him, which he could have rather easily

For example, Walz refrained from calling Vance 'weird' nor did he make any reference to that 'Childless Cat ladies' remark.

I thought Walz's deliver was extremely halting, apprehensive and my impression of him was more like:

"Holy shit, if we win this thing, it's quite likely we'll have to work with this guy to get anything passed! As it stands now our party looks to lose control of the Senate and maybe we won't win the House either! Better be nice to this guy, cuz we'll have to work with this guy later on should we get elected."

They probably remember how Obama offended Mitch McConnel & how he later didn't listen to anything they did and moreover thwarted any future legislation they were tying to pass.
