Lokmar

Quote from: J E B Stuart on January 06, 2025, 09:33:11 PMGolden Earring is a Dutch band. They've been a hit machine for years in their native country.   They even had a few in the good ol' USA. This is the first one and it is a dandy:

Amen.

Perhaps #2 song of the 70's.

Trapeze was excellent band from the 70's I wish I could've seen live. I did, however, buy two of their albums. FYI, Glen Hughes left to join Deep Purple; Mel Galley later played with Whitesnake; and last, but not least, Dave Holland drummed several years for Judas Priest.

This song is from Trapeze's 2nd album, Medusa:

Deo vindice

I heard of Trapeze. I knew that kiddie diddling drummer came from that band. I didn't know about the other two.

Wow. That's fucking depressing. He's dead now. Died of lung cancer:  https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dave_Holland_(drummer)

Cheap Trick is still going strong with three of the four original members. I've seen 'em in concert and hope to see 'em again.  This number never gets old:

Good. I hope he suffered.

Makes ya wonder how many Gary Glitters and their ilk are out there.

Yep. Pete Townsend is another one.

I always thought this band sounded like Yes. Guitarist Peter Banks did come from Yes, but he wasn't the vocalist. Anyway, I have the album and this number spent about 3 months on the charts.

I still like this old classic by Jerry Doucette.

Good one!  I'd never heard of Jerry Doucette until your post. I looked him up on Wikipedia and am sad to report he passed in 2022.  He was married to Maggie for 43 years and they had five children.

The great Dickie Betts passed away last April. "Blue Sky" is a song he wrote while with a band he helped found, namely, The Allman Brothers. Sweet and melodic, it's one of my favorites:

Amen.
Deo vindice

I only know this song by him.

I saw Wet Willie in concert years ago. Damn good band and Jimmy Hall sho'nuff could sing. They formed in 1969 in Alabama and moved to Macon, Georgia. This made the top 10 in 1974:

Amen.

Deo vindice
