This Sam Cooke number was a huge hit and has been covered by more artists than you can count. Of note is that the legendary Lou Rawls is on backing vocals.

Cooke was only 33 years old when he was shot and killed by a motel manager in 1964.

Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield were a spectacularly successful duo known as The Righteous Brothers. As such, they were at the forefront of what came to be known as "blue-eyed soul."  I've seen them twice, although the latest was after Hatfield passed in 2003 from a heart attack.
